What has been the knock on Andy Reid his whole career? Game management.

I didn't say it doesn't/couldn't work, did I?

I said I don't like it.

You've been complaining about Vrabel's game management for two years. Do think it will improve, stay the same, or get worse now that he could have more on his plate every Sunday afternoon?

“there’s too much that goes on during a game for a coach to effectively do both”

I was just pointing out current examples of how that statement isn’t true.

Vrabel has grown as a coach since he got here and his game management has gotten better. I guess when you get a job you won’t expect to get promotions or handle more job functions as you go on....

This tweet says nothing about him calling plays. So we don’t really know how his role will change on Sundays. He could just be more involved in the game planning every week and some one else will call plays.

Yeah Vrabels game management has been questionable but that doesn’t mean it’s correlated to “there was too much going on”. He might’ve just made a bad decision. We also don’t know if he made those decisions against the advice of others etc. So many variables we don’t know and way to many people jumping to conclusions

I assume this means Art will take even more control of the offense, and we'll basically have an offensive head coach and a defensive head coach in terms of practice/schemes.

Stated as opinion and in no way said it wasn’t possible.

We can give as many examples of it working as not working.

I’m not a fan of it. I think part of being a manager, or in this case a head coach, is hiring people you trust to do their job and letting them do it. Ideally you don’t have to step in.

Signing King Henry and Tanny will make it all feel complete.

Even still, seems like most of us are cautiously optimistic on Vrabel wearing 2 hats. Hope they know what they’re doing.

Maybe if he is running the D it will distract him from doing dumb shat on offense
I can't say for sure what he does with the offense... But I've seen better TO/challenge management from children on Madden. Even though he seemed to get better in that department as the year went on.

My trepidation from this honestly has more to do with the fact I didn't think he was a very good play caller for the Texans. Better HC than DC, and I'd like to see him stick with that.

Vrabel is more of a leader of men and teacher of fundamental skills and techniques than a play caller or game manager. This isn't a step in the right direction imo.
I agree with this. I don't believe he is a good coordinator, but I think he is a great head coach....

Tom Brady is the next Titans QB. His wife is currently touring Montgomery Academy.

Yeah since the Titans and Houston have the greatest defenses of all time, would be a sin to bring in someone who might offer something new. This will end in epic failure, wait and see. Bill O’Brien V2.
Cant wait to win 5 division titles

Not a big fan of the HC/playcaller dynamic, regardless of who it is. I like the CEO head coach. There's too much that goes on during a game for a coach to effectively do both.

both coaches in the super bowl are play callers. If it’s done right it can be extremely powerful. Time will tell if he can do it right if this is true.

Your opinion is that there is too much going on during the game to be an efficient play caller and game manager. Doesn’t matter if it’s a statement of fact or not. I was simply providing current examples to show that opinion is invalid.

Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn’t. I’m sure you sat down and looked at it all it probably doesn’t mean much in the grand scheme of things.

Step off the ledge dude. Holy sh*t. It’s clear the Titans want continuity. It’s important for defensive guys to react and not think. They are familiar with this scheme and have had some success with it. What’s wrong with that?
