he was wrong

Reminds me of this German bearing manufacturer that has a bunch of factories in this area. People that work there say the name of the company as though it is an acronym, but it is not, that is the actual name

Wasn’t Houston’s secondary their defensive liability?

Did you see their secondary? they were trading for other teams backups middle of the year trying to fill spots.

Coaches can only do so much. Talented players will make most coaches look good and the reverse is true also.

So their defense struggled doing what ours did but ours didn’t struggle. Why the change?
We had Tye Smith, Brock, Sims, and Hooker (listed as S) after losing butler for the year and Jackson for multiple weeks. Overall, I’d say the secondary was still the strong point of the D even during the KC game.

Makes zero sense to hire a midget to coach our secondary. How the hell will he see the players from the sideline?

Check the stats on that. Titans defense (secondary in particular) was one of the worst in the league after Butler’s injury.

Butler got injured week 9.

First 9 games DY/PA
244/13, 121/19, 204/20, 364/10, 204/14, 167/16, 326/20, 283/23, 214/30

After butler injury DY/PA
433/32, 252/20, 309/17, 258/21, 234/24, 275/38, 192/14, 209/13, 345/12, 292/35

I’d say it was pretty close before and after injury especially considering we lost Jackson also for much of the second half and any games to adjust for the FA signings.

Yards.

Titans finished 24th in pass defense. Texans were 29th.

But Titans were top 15 unit in all categories the first half of the year.
Ok. We should consider competition and, as far as league ranking, the lack of pass rush.

I’m not saying this secondary excelled, but based on almost the same scenario as Houston in regards to injury, titans did much better and I’ll argue with bigger losses (injuries).

Houston relies on pass rush to help a weaker secondary, Tennessee obviously doesn’t value pass rush so they rely on 3 excellent CB’s.

364 on 10 passing attempts? Which game was this?

I agree with you here however, Houston lost their best pass rusher this year too.

Not Pass att, Points allowed.

After butler went down, the D averaged about 40 more yards per game and 4 points allowed per game but Jackson also went down.

Along the same lines but much more subjective, I think the titans schedule got harder towards the end of the year and there were questions about whether we were watching some over performance in the beginning but they just avg out by the end.

Eh, not a huge hire. Was hoping for a bigger splash.

lol no one in here ever mentioned his name or knew who he was prior to this post ; people judge too much on the actual team.

if it was a coordinator coming from a team with solid DBs then you would say “ooh man great / solid move!”

truth is you have no idea - none of us do. Could be solid but none of us know.

Titans definitely played better offenses in the 2nd half of the season. I will admit that.

But with the offense clicking the way it was late in the year and our run game going it just felt like the defense slipped big time.

Beginning of the year it felt like our defense was on the field all the time but offenses didn’t do much. Late part of the year it felt like we just couldn’t stop anyone.

In our 2-4 start how many games did we lose and give up more than 20 points? Jags game is the only one and they scored exactly 20 and got help from that Adoree Jackson fumble at like the 5 yard line.

I know the offenses were better in the 2nd half of the schedule but when our offense got going the defense went backwards.

Another person letting an obvious joke go right over their head. Are you sure you’re not a midget?

That was no joke don’t try and deflect lol. Midget? Practice falling over a few times and I’ll be right over

That was no joke? You mean you’re too dumb to grasp the obvious puns? Read it again, this time real slowly. Funny, just about everyone else caught what I was doing.

The huge hire made sense.

I didn't get the splash part. Got a 4 foot tall friend and he is like 160 lbs. And will damn near empty a hotel pool. He doesn't have to really even do anything to do a better cannonball than a 6 foot person.
