I'm sure having A. Donald lined up next to him had nothing to do with that ...

To put your comment in perspective, BEFORE he went to the Rams, Suh was first in qb hits and TFL and 2nd in qb pressures for a DT since 2010.

Doesn't look like he needs the help to be one of the best DT's in the NFL!!!

Plus, we'd play him next to Casey...so he'd have help here!

There are no west coast teams in our division

If Suh were in it for his preferences, he'd sign with whatever team that was for whatever they can afford. Since this is much MORE about getting the most money, his preference of staying on the west coast is ONLY gonna matter if the offers are close.

Seahawks are the best fit in terms of west coast, have the money, and best chance to win (compared to the Raiders) but don't normally shell out $14mil/yr contract. Sounds like he might need to take a big paycut to play there. The rebuilding Raiders are the other west coast option but not sure they'd sign him since they aren't really on the verge.

It's possible neither west coast team will offer him anything close to what he wants.

The Colts have a TON of cap space and make the most sense but also don't go after splashy free agents. That would leave us and the Texans of teams that are ready to win NOW!

That's a very nice way of making the difference look smaller BUT...the difference is still huge!

Let's suppose (HOPE) Urban can keep that pace for the same 888 snaps (which he is unlikely to be in shape for) Suh had. At that %, he's have 39 compared to Suh's 57. That MORE than 1 more pressure per game.

Realistically, Urban can't play that number of snaps (few the size of Suh can) and if he does, his pressure % is likely to drop significantly.
There is zero.zero % chance Urban plays 888 snaps this year. None of our DL plays that much, not even Casey

Our D is too good to be left out there long enough for any single DT to rack up 888 snaps.

yeah...which is why Urban's stats probably go DOWN, not up! Even more reason to sign Suh...even though they most likely won't!

Thats what we seem to do, same at LB too

Titans run a saucy 4-3 in disguise, only need 2 DT's

Pretty sure we're still running a 3-4 when we are in base. I don't recall seeing a lot of 5 OLB's on the field at a time against base 2 wr sets. Against nickel, yes we have 2 DT's and drop our OLB's down to play like 4-3 DE's but then we have essentially a 2-4-5 personel grouping....which isn't a 4-3 despite having 2 DT's too.

The thing is, we probably played more nickel and dime than base D this past season so we did have more 2 DT groupings...just not so much vs base offensive formations.

You will be loving the D’Andre Walker pick by the end of the year

Let's see if he makes the roster. I predict he'll be on the PS this season unless he shows more pass rush than Finch/Correa and can be a starter on special teams.

Outside of 1st & 10 we hardly ever used 3 down linemen. Idc about base, you are what you call the majority of the time

If he goes to PS, I think we'll lose him

The last stat I heard was that league wide, teams run base less than 40% of the time now. So yeah, we probably have 3+ DL on the field around 40% of the plays. Depth at LB is far more important than depth for big DL. Not saying DL are not important, just that you don't need the same depth at that spot as you do at LB.
