Not much the Titans can do at this point. Robinson went all in this past season and the team couldn't deliver. Now the Titans are in a mess of their own making. It's on Robinson to try and fix this mess he created.

The Julio trade cost them a second rounder in this years draft, and Robinson absorbed Julio's salary when he acquired him. This led to Tannehill restructuring to keep the Titans under the cap and now his cap hit is huge. Restructuring Byard can only help so much and the Titans have given out several high priced contracts/extensions in the past few years. Combine this with the last two first round picks being completely non productive, then you got the situation the Titans are in.

Honestly, this past season's team was likely the best chance the Titans had to win a championship. Just have to see how things go from here on out.
May have won it all of our players weren’t flies stuck on fly tape. Just a bad season for injuries. Hard to stomach.

AJ brown extension...
Sure but AJ's extension wouldn't affect the 2022 cap much. It just feels like what you're gaining by cutting Julio post-free agency isn't worth not having him on the squad. It does open up a trade possibility though, or a bigger free agent. We better make something of it.

May of just been a missed gamble in his mind and cutting bait. I dunno. Disappointing all around

What was the point of releasing him Post June 1st? It saves more cap space but what are we going to spend that cap space on if free agency is well over by then?

That's why this is surprising to me, I thought they would let it ride another year, especially considering the draft capital we gave up.

The Point of the post June 1 designation is that the Titans immediately get the cap relief and the player gets to hit FA right away…each team gets 1 such designation…it helps both the team and the player. So the Titans now have 9mil more they can use….they don’t have to wait til June 1st

Depends how the contract is structured and when it takes effect. It could be one that front loads, which might make sense so we can get out later.

It should be noted that NWI beat Julio in every major receiving stat this past year. It should also be noted that NWI’s cap hit is only $895,000.

While I definitely think Jrob has a plan that will move NWI to the WR4 or WR5, the above demonstrates that they’ve made the right decision moving on from Julio now to reload.
