If he has an above average year, stays healthy, and we make the playoffs, they will sign him. Just the way this league works. You don’t move on from a web you have won with unless you are really confident in his replacement. So he is not done yet...got a year to play.
Of course he plays this year, but after that he's done. No chance he gets a multi-year contract. Even with a good year, Robinson isn't blowing up the salary for a one hit wonder.

Then why would he and the rest of the staff say they want him to be the franchise an and named him the starter?

Honestly signing him after an explosive year could be getting him cheap. If he repeats then his price tag goes up.

Easy to say you want someone to be the guy. I want this roster to be full of all-pros, doesn’t mean we will.
So you want the QB to be the guy, so you don’t have to replace (what I’m told) is the most important position. This is common sense thinking.
Name him the starter because you have to make a decision on paying the guy. I like the approach of at least watching him play before making a decision.
So 2 for 2 on common sense answers there.

As far as getting him cheap. Depends on how “explosive”of a season. Personally, I think he’s playing to even get a contract, not for additional pay per year type of contract.

If Henry had 16 games like his final 4 last year, he wouldve destroyed the NFL rushing yards record with 2,340 and tied the TD record with 28. Sometimes stats can be fun.
As tall as Henry runs I'd have expected an injury at some point. So in the event hes victim of injury let's say 14 games x 146.

Projected season with injury built in: 2047. Def MVP caliber

What else would they say.. "This dude sucks but we need another year to have a shot at a better qb."?

That is ridiculous.

Marcus Mariota is the only player capable of MVP type season for Titans his talent transcends time would be great in any era, he is this generations Roger Staubach, or Steve Young only better and more gifted.

Wait what lol

Both those QB's Staubach and Young were super athletes both also didn't get going until 6 or 7 years removed from college Staubach due to Navy commitment (Vietnam) then coach Landry's belief that Craig Morten is better fit for Cowboys in early 70's. Young BYU 1983 went to USFL 84-84, then bad years with Bucs draft Testaverde then trade Young to 49er back up Montana for few years. I lived in Texas and Arizona most of my life and saw Staubach at end of his career Cowboys fan back in 1977, then on Thanksgiving in 79 saw Campbell and the Oilers run all over America team and fell in love with Luv ya Blue and have backed them since. Back in the early 80;s Arizona didn't have a NFL team but we had a USFL team Arizona Wranglers in 1984 they played the La Express in the Western Conference Championship in 1984 QB by Steve Young, game should have been in La but LA was hosting 84 summer Olympics so game was played at Tempe/ ASU(like a 120 degrees on the field and the game was at night), I knew Steve was good then saw him play some games at BYU, first pro game I went to, Young struggled most of his first few years in league, wasn't the most impressive QB, very reckless. Mariota has been significantly better than these Hall Fame QB early in their career's, not even close
