well, at the very least it would be entertaining. which is more than what we will probably have the next few years. i'm in!
I’m pretty confident they are going to bring in a young offensive mind. The problem will be that all of the successful “offensive genius” coaches from that Shannahan line are run first offenses. Not in the way we have been, but still run dependent. People are going to lose it when they figure out establishing the run actually helps the passing game. Haha!

What do people think of some of the older offense canidates like Eric Bieniemy (sp?) Or Todd Monken? Monken specifically has been great for Baliltimore this season and has really put a great offense together for Lamar Jackson.

I think those two guys are great coordinators and there are valid reasons they’ve never been head coaches.

I'd agree with that but I definitely think they would be worth a look. Especially Bieniemy who is available to speak to now I believe and checks the Rooney rule box for us.

i find it unlikely the golden boy of the coaching carousel chooses this team. call me crazy but we aren't a top3 landing spot. simply because 4+ other teams will have more promising QBs, and we have no real playmakers anywhere else. i'm not sure what exactly our draw would be, and seemingly everyone wants slowik.

Possible franchise QB in Levis, Hopkins, Spears, a bunch of cap space. There are draws.

hopkins is most likely gone since we fired vrabel who brought him in, and hopkins SPECIFICALLY mentioned stability as what he wanted when he signed. i'd be totally shocked if he's here next year. (and there is an out in his contract)

so levis and spears.

meanwhile 3 of the teams with vacancies will be picking top 3 and likely getting one of williams/maye/daniels. is levis more appealing than any of those 3? i'd say no, if levis was thrown back in the draft pool this season he'd still be picked 4th qb or worse. and those other teams have more talent on offense (maybe not the pats, i have no idea what their OL is like but they are about the same otherwise)

also one of the other vacancies has herbert.

i just dont see how we fit in as one of the top spots. i know fans want to believe it but realistically i dont see it.

That’s fine. “Realistically” we have never been a really attractive destination. Hasn’t stopped the owners from trying. There are only 32 jobs. That is pretty attractive in and of itself. It sounds like you are preparing yourself for a letdown, which you have every right to do as a Titan fan.

Who says they have to pick their landing spot based on the teams roster? Hell a coach might want to coach the Titans because they like Nashville or the taxes are low or they have family there or close by.

Pay me 9-10m a year, I don't care what roster they gave me. I'll rah rah til I'm fired.

I want nothing to do with Bieniemy. Something is right with him.

because you want to go somewhere you can succeed. these guys are already millionaires. not that money doesnt matter but the top guys choose where they think they will have the most success, and that absolutely takes roster into account. the team that just fired vrabel in a whirlwind, with a bad roster, isn't checking the boxes of best chance of success.

You don't know that. Hell these coaches could be picking a certain team because they heard the cafeteria has the best food.

NFL coaching jobs are always a challenge. You're most likely inheriting a very bad team. I think most coaches are arrogant enough to think they can turn any team around and most see it as a challenge they want.

Brian Callahan should be high on the list as well. Bengals have had a great offense under Callahan and Jake Browning looked good after Burrow went down. He reminds me of Matt LeFluer last time we were 8n the HC market. A young, high upside offensive canidate who would be a slam dunk hire if he was the playcaller. I wanted LeFluer over Vrabel and still believe it would have been a better hire.

Added perk that his dad is one of the best OL coaches in the NFL.
