My post for the week
In UK, Up to 40% of People Being Admitted to Hospital for COVID Have Been Fully Vaccinated
From your own link:
The wording of Vallance’s tweet made his meaning a bit unclear, though if 60 percent of hospitalizations were from unvaccinated people, that suggests 40 percent of hospitalizations were from partially or fully vaccinated patients.
The real numbers are 15% of those who go in are double vaccinated. The other 25% means nothing. Anyone thinking half the vaccine will work is severely misinformed .
Even when you are double vaccinated, it can take up to 2 weeks for the full protection to kick in.
What's the percentage of those?
How many are getting SERIOUSLY I'll because that's what matters. With all that's going on, a person gets covid, gets scared, goes to the hospital, gets antibody treatments, then go home.
Lets do Ireland next!!!
Sorry, I dont plan on signing up to read the whole article, which I am sure you did but I can only laugh because why the hell would you get your credit card data to a newspaper from Ireland?
Oh well, to each their own.
However I can quote Paul Reid several times.
HSE chief executive Paul Reid said: "The vaccination status in ICU, 62% of ICU cases currently in hospital aren't vaccinated at all.
"They haven't had any vaccination, which is very high proportion of the population who have not been vaccinated.
"15% are partially vaccinated, the remaining 20 to 23% are fully vaccinated."
Hospitalisations among the double-jabbed are "overwhelmingly" in people with underlying conditions
He added: "If you are vaccinated, you have significantly higher levels of protection from being hospitalised or entering ICU.
"The highest percentage of Covid patients in ICU are unvaccinated."
Looks like your source disagrees with you.
More numbers to play with:
(30% of the population of unvaccinated are taking up 62% of the ICU's)
People need to be wise about which vaccine they use as well, based on the most recent information. (If you have not gotten it yet)
1. In the UK, 40 million people received the Pfizer vaccine vs 17 million that got the Moderna. Recent studies show that the Moderna shot produces twice the antibodies that the Pfizer vaccine created.
Pick your vaccine wisely
2. This is important:. Some studies show that the vaccines effectiveness can start to wain as early as 4 months after getting the vaccine. The effectiveness of the vaccine can drop from 85+ percent, all the way down to 60+ percent in some people.
The reason this is important is because a vaccine that is 85-90% effective vs a vaccine that is 60% is going to skew numbers and data. Thats why people need to be diligent with their information.
This SHOULD be common sense but hey, I'm just some smuck on the internet.
Again, pick your vaccine wisely
So what does all of this mean?
Science evolves and is ever evolving. What is said today, will change 6 months from now. Probably more often, as we have all seen the past year. Not only that, no one is going to find 100% accurate data, because there are too many variables. (effectiveness of the vaccine, how long you have had it, ect)
You also say that half of the patients in your ICU are fully vaccinated. Do you have any proof of this?
