Beer- $4
Nachos $4
Chili Dog $3

And I was in line and had food less than 5 minutes. It was an 8 out of 10 on taste.

I'm curious what's the minimum wage in TN vs GA? Could be the reason you're able to pay less for food and drinks over there. Over here in Oregon, yup the liberal population always votes to raise minimum wage without thinking about overall consequences hence the rise in costs for everything such as food, entertainment, childcare, dwindling small business owners. I believe our minimum wage here is $12 soon to be $13 then eventually $15.

That's not really the way min wage vs increases go, for what it's worth.

And Tennessee/Georgia is probably about exactly the same.
 
What's happening is- you're seeing Atlanta be smart with fans. They know fans will go from spending very little at a game- to now spending a lot more.

The Atlanta Hawks are doing it now too.


But compare Seattle (progressive/higher min wages) Seahawks to Tennessee Titans' concessions.

Seattle's are a lot cheaper.

Why? They're more progressive in their model.

Uh.. yes it is. Wages go up, then to keep the profit margins, the company has to raise prices.
 
There's also a lack of options in play. You can't bring in any outside food. Therefore, the only supply is the concessions. If the masses stopped paying for them, the titans would be forced to drop them.

Yeah, was just seeing if there was a correlation? Over here we've seen prices sky rocketing at Blazers games over last decade after a number of changes such as min wage but again so have player salaries. We pay about $12 for a 16oz of microbrew beer and $7 for hotdog and fries.

Not really.

Not to the extent that it's noticeable or matching the wage increase.

History proves this. And regardless if min wage increases-- prices and cost of living does, regardless.

Sorry. Bumping the min wage up to 15 doesn make your egg mcmuffin cost but about 10c more... hardly something worth noting.

People know values. They're not going to decide "hey, because I can- I'll spend 5 dollars more on a sandwich now"... and companies know this.

That's one year after the change. Just wait. Prices will increase, and people will whine about the minimum wage not being high enough again.
 
Inflation does exist. Just not to the point you'd like to pretend it does in order to politicize being against wage increases.

Wage Push Inflation

This is taught in schools and universities around the world. As a general economic concept.

We're probably having a macro (me) and micro (you) debate now though.
