That drove me crazy too, I had people literally chastise me when I was pointing out that this defense was no where near elite.

They had a decent stretch early in the season as far as points allowed, but they’ve always been gouged for big plays all season long, and have been overall weak against the run and the pass. And have trouble getting to the QB. No where near elite, not then, certainly not now.

Playing below average offenses helped
 
Saints pinned deep for a change. Odds that the defense can actually get the ball quickly here?
