NBA players are spoiled and entitled. It is what it is. At least Durant played out his contacts, unlike two of the players mentioned.

yeah, its not like they work their whole lives to reach a certain level, and then when they get to that level they demand to earn what theyve sacrificed their whole life for. and on top of that most superstars are worth 20x more than their contract allows them to receive solely based on the overall boost to the cities economy. but yeah "spoiled and entitled" could surely be the word you want to use if you've never worked hard for anything in your life.

Odd that you'd take Leonard over "no heart Durant" when Leonard quit on the Spurs last season and then demanded a trade.

@Alzarius knows.

leonard sat out for the same reason KD should of sat out. these franchies don't care about you long-term, so why should you risk your short term for them when you've proven yourself.

That’s not true at all, anyone in sports knows that the Spurs run things differently and clearly put the player before meaningless stats. The spurs tried their best to protect Kawhi, his uncle got involved and it turned into a catastrophe. Nobody has ever been “wronged” by the spurs and Kawhi flat out blew that franchise up.

Disclaimer: I work with Spurs team physician David Schmidt, MD.

i don't disagree that his uncle getting involved made things much worse. but i also remember the spurs medical staff cleared him while his own personal doctors said he wasn't ready yet. i believe without his uncle being involved he would of just missed the whole year and came back next year with the spurs.

Contract disputes are almost never about money in the NBA. They want to go play in cities whose economies won't be affected in the slightest by their presence.

i see what you're saying but the NBA, unlike the NFL, has become a players league which is why premier players are now signing shorter deals with player options to ensure they maximize their earnings every year. On top of that you have more players that just want to team up and play with other great players, and most of them don't care what city its in as long as they get paid. The closest thing to this in the NFL would be like if Travis Kelce, Michael Thomas, Byard, Xavier Rhodes and Alvin Kamara all said "ok lets all go be Colts since they have cap space and Andrew Luck".

If they go through two contracts and the owners have failed to put a good team around them, then I can understand them wanting out. But some kids won't even interview with certain teams prior to the draft. They need to just need to create a bunch of teams in the bigger markets, then the league may stand a chance of actually being competitive.

This thread would of been better if it was just his high light video.

Reminder he sucks might as well sit him forever

He was diagnosed with quadriceps tendinopathy and his treatment was rest. He overworked the previous summer after experiencing the same pain the previous year, and the spurs tried to back his activity down.

He wasn’t ready mentally and this is what created the conflict. The raptors have had to back him down this year too due to the same issue. It’s been told that Kawhi is still having the same problems but is determined to play through it because of the negative impact it had on his profile as well as it being a his contract year.

Kawhi’s uncle magnified the conflict dramatically

Durant and Klay Thompson have heart and play for the team.

Mariota is not willing to risk it and that's why no one will remember him and he will never reach the legacy of these types of players.

NO heart? Clearly you have never watched him play.

I will be very honest about this, I have pure hatred for Durant so my view is very blinded and skewed! He's a POS in my opinion. I know it doesn't matter and minimal in the big picture but this is just an example of how much I dislike him and Oregon State University. I have access to Nike employee store and 50% discount on everything, whenever someone asks me to hook them up with KD shoes etc or Oregon State gear I refuse to buy it just to make sure the said products don't sell! Yes, I know its ridiculous and I fully admit it. Ok, back to my Friday day drinking and yard work LOL.

Lol how come ?

We love when players play injured in big games as a society.

Kirk Gibson homerun
Michael Jordan flu game
Tiger Woods countless injuries

The legends play in big time situations and don’t worry about their health. Risk is part of the game. What would we be saying if KD and Klay Thompson played hurt and led the Warriors back to another chip?

To be fair... Mariota played with nagging injuries all last season.

Nah. The reason he will never reach that level of legacy is that he doesn't play all that well when he isn't hurt, and hasn't sniffed a championship.

That and he plays like crap when he is hurt. It is just an excuse for his bad play. If Jordan went out and scored 7 points 2 assists with 6 turnovers no one would care about the flu game.

It amazes me how many people defend Mary and his “injuries”. If he’s injured that often, he shouldn’t be starting games. Hard to play well and be consistent if so.

They'll say he was injured all year and most of his career but will never call him injury prone.
