I want gary or burns then DT. If none are there of value I would might be ok with one of the tight ends from iowa other than that trade down. No Guards or Centers with 19. To me pass rusher or DT or trade down

As for TE I think 19 is way too high to get your next Luke Stocker type..
It would be Walker's replacement when he's done. I'm not convinced Smith will ever become a well-rounded TE that isn't a liability on run plays.

The only 2 guys I reasonably trade up for are Hockenson or Oliver. I’ve been on the Hock train for months. Dude has better hands than Fant and blocks well. Instant replacement to Walker when it’s time. Oliver looks solid too and had an insane pro day. It’s going to be interesting to see what we do.

Why do you want Gary? He's probably one of the few guys I really don't want who we could end up with because I think he slides...a lot.

Agreed but I think both will be taken top 10-12. Oliver is getting a LOT of buzz around the Jets...but I think that is because they want to trade out. But he'd be a heck of a piece for Gregg Williams to have!

Fant has dropped too many balls...and that consistency certainly needs work...but he does make some spectacular catches...especially on shoe string throws. I don't think either makes it to us but if one does, do you take Fant?

Yeah I agree. That’s a tough call man. I honestly just like the consistency and 2 sided skill that Hock has. I’m not sure Fant has that. He just has the athleticism.

Problem is, I don't think Wilkins makes it to us. At DT your choice may be Gary, Simmons, or Tillery. If Edge is Ferrell, Polite and even Bradbury could go before our pick...then what? Take McCoy at C or go wr or Fant IF he's still there? I think we'd trade down or try to in this situation but I can see it happening.

The thing with Simmons is, he could end up being a top 5 pick in this draft in 2-3 years...so maybe he does or does not give us a boost when we need it late in the season/playoffs...but if not, he could be one of the best players on the team for the next 7 years.

There is no way ALL those guys are gone by 19. At least 3 qb will go off the board. Two or three WR likely. Some OT, some CB. At least Hock in all likelihood.

I see Bradbury as the worst case scenario. If all the defense studs and Hock are gone, I go that route.

In the unlikely even he's gone too, I guess you go WR. Neal would be my guy.

I'm not saying Id take Fant over hock...I'm saying who do you want if both of your guys are gone?

I could see scenarios in which only 1 QB goes before our pick (and lets say Skins trade their pick for Rosen so another player we want goes in their spot). I'm not sure any wr's go before our pick. Same with CB as there is no clear cut consensus. A lot of wr's cb's and s's in round 2...so why reach in round 1? plus, at least two teams in front of us could go interior OL and if guys like Jonah Williams get drafted to play OT...Bradbury could go to the Vikes or Texans could leapfrog us for OL too.

Also hearing some teams took Sweat off their board due to his heart condition but he scares some teams. Elite athlete but not as polished as you'd like...especially for a guy with his size, length, and athleticism (though the Senior Bowl showed his talent). What if the Titans have him off their board and don't want to take Simmons due to baggage or health?

I'd love to see 4 qb's and 3 OT's go as well as 1 rb and a few cb's go before our pick so we have some good options at a few positions! I'm not even sure the Cards take Murray.

disagree,

i think the likely candidates for WR are:

jets (maybe after a slight trade back? giants for qb?)
giants (the giants have 2 picks before us and just lost odell)
jaguars (these guys are going one of OL/WR/TE 100%)
bills (seems very likely)
broncos (slim chance)
bengals (really need defense but they are stupid)
redskins
panthers

no way a WR doesnt go before us, i wouldnt say its impossible but pretty unlikely

Hmmmm....Yeah, I’m not sure honestly. Nobody strikes me at TE. Irv Smith meh....This draft gonna be interesting. I am cool going DL, Edge, C, TE. I’d basically be unhappy otherwise.

I can’t see the Jets going wr unless their is a mega trade back to mid first. Jets are looking for defensive playmaker in round to bolster the D.

Giants are projected 3 ways for 2 picks...qb, dl/edge, ol. Could take we with mid first but current thinking is they go d playmaker then take qb later or barring that or a trade...ol.

Jags could definitely go wr but they also need OL and if Hock is there I think they take him before any wr.

Bills another team that could certainly go wr.

Broncos have much bigger needs like future qb ol dl/edge.

Bengals need D and certainly an obvious spot if one ofd the ilbs is still available. But yes...they’ve been bad and could pick Strangely.

Skins need a qb ok and dl/edge but are where the value starts matching up but I think the QB problem shows. If cards get this pick for Rosen...good chance first wr goes here.

Panthers need OL help and could go OT it OC.

Always the possibility of an unexpected wr or two but I’m not seeing it.

Caleb Wilson in the 4th or 5th would be really solid.

His problem is he's smallish for TE at 240lbs and that's after he gained weight in college. Initially he was gonna be a QB and WR. He needs to get bigger and a lot stronger as he's not much of a blocker at this point. He's basically a big wr who lines up at TE and wins because he's either bigger or faster than the LB's trying to cover him. That won't be the case in the NFL.

He does not play like a 4.5 speed guy on the field but he has a good knack for getting open vs zone or man. There were teams in 2017/2018 that just let him run open in zones all day long.

As a backup TE, he's a good pass catcher...but we have that. He could develop if he gets bigger and stronger and can block a lot better...but I think we'd look for help from some other guys before him. I think he goes 5th-7th rounds...closer to the latter.

Take a look at Dawson Knox, Jace Sternberger, and Kaden Smith as other TE's outside the top 3. I believe we've met with these guys so more likely to go with someone we met than not though Wilson could get taken late to develop.

Any luck finding the other visits we don't know yet???

I'm sure this is the final list they will have.

Umm Sione Takitaki is a ILB bud

way too small to pay on the edge...

The interesting thing to me about the list is that we actually brought in 5 OTs for private visits...that is more than I would have expected....and Little, Howard and Cajuste are 2nd-3rd rnd guys.....I haven't heard anyone talking about us taking an OT in the 1st 2 days.....almost makes me think they could be considering telling Conklin to play RG and then let Kelly and rookie OT battle for starting spot at RT
