Is anyone else not really feeling Taken 2? Action scenes will be great but it's basically the same movie...

I admit I'll still see it, but yea... not expecting much. I went to see Unknown with Liam Neeson because I considered it to be Taken 2 (before they announced a sequel to Taken). My God it was awful.

I personally really liked Taken, but Taken 2 is essentially like The Hangover Part II... same format, same action scenes, same conclusion.

I'm wanting to see Looper a lot more... which, at first, I considered to look really stupid. With the reviews it's been getting, it's impossible to pass on though.

Me and a puerto rican buddy who is now in prison decided to get blasted all day and watch every single LoTR movie consecutively. I would advise against that. And people seem so excited for the hobbit.. I don't get it.

Best thing about the originals are the landscape/ORCS!!!! FOR DEH HORDE

I like the.....actual first Star Wars films....

but since we are admitting things....

I think Quentin Tarantino is a terrible film maker, producer, director, etc. The only films of his I enjoy are Pulp Fiction and Res Dogs.

He's overrated as hell... Inglorious Basterds was my favorite of his. I think Reservoir Dogs is super overrated. Good but nothing special.

Really all of his movies are overrated IMO.

Blasphemous. Inglourious Basterds will go down as a classic.

When he's at his best, he is a great filmmaker.

Inglorious Basterds is what really made me hate QT. It just struck me as recycled garbage from previous films with a sloppy plot, gimmicky scenes that felt forced just to add shock value, and just terrible transitions.

The stylish violence, the homage to older classics and long dialogues was just typical QT film school. Every director recycles. I thought the plot was great and intelligent, as well as the pacing and script. It wasn't what the trailer indicated, and that's just a dumb mindless movie about slaughtering Nazi's in over-the-top fashion. And it had one of the best opening scenes I've seen in any movie. And the Jew hunter should go down as one of the greatest villains of all time.

I'm not a QT apologist, the one flaw about Inglourious Basterds was the Jew bear scene, that was really the one scene I thought could have spent some time in the editing room. QT is one of those directors that's very stubborn when it comes to cutting unnecessary length.

But those are two incredible movies.. and Kill Bill series was pretty solid, especially the first.

Sorry, I'm on the Tarantino bandwagon.

( I did not care for Grindhouse. lol)
