It sounds like he'll cost less than Hartwig, although it's hard to tell based on how contracts are structured. Per year hartwig got more, not sure based on signing bonuses.

I can't remember exactly, but I think Hartwig got something like 5 years, $17million. They're close. If Mawae was given a 5th year at the same rate, it would be like 5 years/$16.25M, so it sounds like a deal when you factor in the experience and higher level of play, to which Mawae hopefully returns in Nashville.

I totally agree with that (the saving their jobs part)!
 
He is a great center but why do I keep hearing Mawae being hurt was the reason Martin didn't have 1000 yrds. The Jets had no passing game and 4 other hurt lineman.
