He didnt burn us

He fell off and realized he was trash one day and just left

Good for us

Wish DAndre Walker was that honest with himself and would walk away
No he didn't. He felt he was better than he was and should be getting top targets after sitting all TC. Then he complained on social about not being utilized. Not sure what you were watching, but this dude is not class. He screwed this team and quit on them last year.

Yea and good

He lost his talents

If you were watching he got passed by, not "quit" on us... It didnt matter that he walked away

If he was still good, then he should have probably gotten more targets, and was right...

...or....

He wasn't good, and therefore didn't screw us.

Yea, he's a real class act. He bailed on our team after they made a commitment to him on our roster. He removed our ability to replace him and left us high and dry. I say good riddance to him. I hope he has a double door on the front of his home so he can fit that big head of his inside. . . . .

Dude is clearly going through it.

But everyone is an asshole because... sports.

So dumb.

The attitude that he owes anyone, anything, is the reason he just straight up left.

If any one of us just didn’t show up to work tomorrow, no one would be saying this about us. And I guarantee our jobs are more important than anyone’s in the NFL.

What a train-wreck. He was a solid WR as long as he isn't expected to be the #1 and he could have had respectable seasons either here or in New Orleans. Good riddance.

The end of 2017 was telling of things to come for Matthews

Dude was always slow, then he just lost his mojo

DW gonna DW

Hope he can pull it together. And really hope he can heal well. Good luck! It is earning it not having it on a silver platter.

I guess and hope his finances are super in order because this real life stuff is humbling. It’s not a sprint it’s a marathon.

Last year, I asked about him to a friend of mine who is a pretty well known NFL reporter. Word on the street is that he may be suffering from some mental health issues which is why we saw the outbursts last year and this year in the retirement statement. Whatever is going on, I hope he finds peace and stability outside the league.

I won't knock the guy. I'll give him credit that what he was saying in his poem is the truth. I'm surprised he just now gets it that he is not, and never has been, the center of universe and the person in control. He had an epiphany of sorts, now understands that the NFL is an entertainment mega industry. He's just bitter that it isn't offering him the ego stroking, the money and the attention that fuels the delusions of grandeur that the majority of NFL players suffer.

Thing is though- it WAS his JOB. He didn't mind all the things he bashed when he was getting paid what HE thought he was worth. And he just can't let go of the race thing. Sounds like he had a disagreement with another player with the "same skin". As if skin mattered if somebody should agree with you carte blanche.

As a professional, you are paid to meet expectations. So I don't mind him quitting and the way he quit. He just still comes off as a malcontent.

Uhh, I've seen plenty of people just not show up to work, and I've seen them get run through the coals for it way worse than what is being said here.

He quit in a super non professional way three times, which is two more chances than most people get in other highly competitive fields.

The fact of the matter is if you are employed, you actually do owe it to your employer to act in an professional manner, and that includes how you quit.

Dude is clearly messed up in the head, but the idea that he is getting way more flak as an athlete than he would as some other type of professional is absurd.

It's not a matter of him owing anyone anything. He quit on the team so people are going to smack talk. Hes quit on multiple teams.

I mean, he isn't wrong..

Regardless of whether we talk smack about a player or not, I would hope most of us would wish anyone who is struggling the the best and that they work their life out.

That being said, its comical to see some of these posters rushing to his defense when they, on a regular basis, trash other players and people
