First off, just want to say I've been a Mariota believer. Gonna share my opinion but state my position up front. Will be interesting to look back at how things pan out.

What do you think Mariota's ceiling is this year?

I honestly think that with a good defense and healthy offensive weapons this could be Mariota's "breakout" year. If he stays healthy, his production and numbers could finally be "elite" and he already has an elite skillset.

The run game just might get fixed this year with the additions of Saffold and Davis. Henry, Lewis, and Fluellen are all capable backs. Will have to see how Conklin bounces back but we could field one of the better O Lines this coming year based on past performance. Mariota should benefit from Saffold at LG and hopefully Davis or another guy step up and lock down the RG spot. The run game could mean some deadly play action for Mariota, and even when we're not running, teams have to respect the run.

Corey Davis - AJ Brown - Adam Humpries -Taywan Taylor could be a deadly combination of receivers. Sharpe is an alternative option as a chain mover and route runner who offers something Taylor doesn't.

On paper that's our best WR group as a franchise. If Brown works himself into the 2 spot it means that he's picked up the offense and speed of the game and we could finally have our group.

Healthy Delanie - Smith - Pruitt - Firkser. Pruitt and Firkser have both showed reliable hands and clutch catches and Smith has the measurables to be a solid pro.

This could be Mariota's breakout year. Could easily see 200 to the WR's and 100 to Delanie + Other TE's the norm. Would be tough to lock down Davis and Brown if Brown pans out. Plus they're both physical guys who can get YAC. You can send either of them deep, plus Taylor, and then you have to deal with Humphries and Delanie underneath with Henry and Lewis coming out of the backfield. Doesn't sound very fun on defense.

I could easily see him throwing for 4,000+ yards and his TD's being solid compared to INT's. Mariota's always been protective of the ball outside of his early fumbling issues. He's never gone on long stretches of throwing bad passes, as in consecutive games. He has elite speed and is deadly as an option runner and some of the pressure issues could finally get resolved (Delanie, Humphries, Brown, Saffold, Davis).

I think his ceiling is pretty high this year heading into his make or break year. If the coaches let him throw the ball I think he'll put up really good numbers and we'll get a lot of wins. His ceiling could put him as a top 10 passer in the league but his intangibles could make us Super Bowl contenders. If the defense holds up this year we could finally win the division again and I say that thinking 3 teams from the South could make the playoffs.

This thread should be pinned so we can't use the "he has no weapons" excuse again.

Its like every year. If everything breaks perfectly, it could be special. But that rarely happens. Never for Titans fans.

I would expect Henry to be the focus of the offense behind what should be a very good oline. But we've said that before too.

I think brown will be good. How good and how soon, who knows.

Will we get walker back full strength? We aren't hearing anything either way. I hope so, but have my fears on this score.

Thing is, we don't NEED gangbuster offense. If the O can protect the ball and put up something in the 28 points a game category, with our defense, we should be looking at a home playoff game.

But we have been maddeningly inconsistent for several years now. Win a big one, look like crap the next week. That has to change.

I am optimistic that we will see Mariotas best year. But that isn't saying a great deal. Id love nothing more than for him to put on a clinic next year and make it easy to sign him long term.

I agree this should be Mariotas year. Not just because of the big time influx of new offensive weapons, and a presumably much upgraded Oline... But because of the emergence of Henry as a top tier workhorse back. If we can get back to running he ball consistently with Henry, it should open up all kinds of room for our diverse collection of receiving threats to thrive. Davis, Brown, Humphries, Taylor, Walker and Lewis are all excellent in space and I'm ecstatic to see how Sir Arthur deploys them.

I think Mariota ceiling is as high as it will ever be going into this year.

Whatever his ceiling is, Tannehill's floor has been much higher. So he'll need to be more worried about topping that

MM8 will be extended before the season ends.....22 million per year for 5 years....book it.

His ceiling is 30 TDs, but he won't hit that mark.

All I need to see is 20 or better to still be able to support him. Shouldn't be that hard if hes anything worth keeping.

should be a good year. we got 9-7 last year with an offense that was broken in many ways, will be interesting to see it all come together.

pray for no injuries for anyone on the O this year

this seems about right although i'd wager slightly higher due to the cap going up

20 Total or 20 Passing? Not trying to build in excuses but hes got 11 rushing TDs over his career.

We definitely had both injuries and struggles on offense last year...That said, excuses are over. It’s now or never, and 13/11 passing TD’s the last 2 years isn’t cutting it. Line has been addressed, WR has been addressed...

That's all well and dandy... on paper. The real concern is, what happens if he stains his hamstring or breaks a rib. The "ceiling" or "potential" is irrelevant if you can't reach it.

Fingers crossed he finally plays a full- injury free- season. This year could be fun to watch. Unfortunately that is out of anyone's control. If gets hurt early, it will be a rough season. Tannehill is a great gap-year vet QB, for whomever we draft, but unfortunately he'll be good enough to win a few games and take us out of the top of the draft. Most of our eggs are in the Mariota basket right now. Hope it pans out.

We're talking QB here so my 20 bar is thru the air.

If he has 20 with rushes, he fell well short of what you expect from an NFL QB.

He has to take shots down field more often...Stop being afraid in the pocket and let it rip. I’d rather lose taking chances and threading the needle than playing cautious.

That won't be enough. Tannehill was on pace for 25 TDs last year with an underwhelming supporting cast, and is a consistent 25 TD QB in a healthy season. I think that's the minimum that we're willing to accept.

You think Tannehill has a chance to beat out Mary? (Honest question)
