I'm surprised anyone is even worried about rushing him back for his stats at this point. I'm all for preserving him for the playoffs even he's even able to come back by then.

how many players win rushing title 3 times in a row

vs

how many teams make the playoffs each year

I don't think they're mutually exclusive topics.
I want Henry back for a SB run primarily but if he comes back early enough, he may be able to win the rushing title a 3rd straight season. As pointed out in the OP, it's a rare feat, Henry could be #4 in the history of the game.

With Henry, we became the top seed in the AFC, you want another rushing title at the cost of possibly jeopardizing his career along with a first round exit in the playoffs?

@GeronimoJackson I agree in principal but it just depends on where he is and where the team is. Plus he might need a few carries to get some rust off. Say we were lucky enough to get a bye and home field. Great but if Henry's first game back is that AFC title game maybe he has some rust and we really need him 100%. I think things will take care of themselves and I'm more worried if this injury takes anything away permanently.

He is not playing in the regular season. The risk of reinjury after coming back before 10 weeks skyrockets. After ten weeks, is drops significantly. Dude needs to sit 10 weeks. Which would have him back for the first round of the playoffs I believe, Jan 15. If we get a bye, even better.

Week 18 is the 11th week I believe. I would like to see him get at least some reps in the last regular season game so he can re-gain his confidence in his foot. But if we get the first round bye and they think it’s best to give him 13 weeks, I won’t argue.
