Even though this season sucked azz, it doesn’t take away what GoT was able to accomplish, it’ll still go down as one of the greatest shows ever as a whole.
I guess. I need some time removed from it. I loved the narrative and characters, but I also loved them with the understanding it was building to some amazing conclusion. Maybe that conclusion in the books is amazing, but the feeling of disappointment is pretty strong right now. It's just hard not to feel all of these things that I found fascinating never really paid off.

I’m overall ok with how it ended. Dany’s arc had always been heading this direction but they just didn’t do a good job getting us there. The last two seasons just rushed through things a little too quickly.

What was disappointing was the absence of all of the history and prophecies. I would have liked to see them tie some of that in a little better. The show threw some of it out there and then was just like ehh nevermind.

You’re comparing slavers and Dothrakis that wanted to rape her to innocent children and women. She had already won. She wanted to inflict fear into everyone.
Cersi could have surrendered... the people could have risen up, like in Mareen, for her...

they choose to pizz of a chick with an alpha-dragon... bad choice

I feel like they wasted all of season 6 with the whole Arya living with the face changer dude. In the end it had little to do with anything other than making Arya an assassin.

You're right, I guess tv show plots shouldn't have any depth.

I mean.. the faceless men were assassins, and she was trained to be one.. and she executed 10AC wearing a mask.. it seems like it proved it's purpose

An entire season of training a specific skill to kill a 90 year old man surrounded by his inbred kids?

Add in the fact that it was easy to see that she was going to end up as an assassin by the end of Season 1. It was just too simple to foreshadow when she had him going around killing those guys because he owed her that debt for saving him.

As a whole, GoT as a series was amazing. But I agree with many that they crammed too much into the final season.

I also thought a few of the previous seasons had some really slow episodes.

It was pretty clear Cersei didn’t want to die for her city, she would have surrendered if given the chance.

The problem is the taking of King’s Landing should have been at least half a season, not an hour.

You could say the same about Jon Snow after he came back to life. What was the point of him being Targaryen again? Oh yeah, it didn’t even matter anymore.

It’s insane when you think about the fact that In a four episode run they killed the NK, killed Cersei, Dany went mad and Dany was killed. FOUR EPISODES

honestly... most of the episodes in s8 were as long as most action movies... just sayin'
