If you’re opinion is you can at the top of your craft and not be great then I just think you need to re examine your expectations.
I mean if you were the top person at your job and your boss said you weren’t great your argument would be to ask who is better, no?
Sure I’ll show everyone how to actually back up a statement like this.
I think the current great GM’s in the NFL are, in no particular order:
Brandon Beane
Mickey Loomis
Kevin Colbert
John Schneider
Jason Licht
Les Snead
Brett Veach
Jon Robinson
Everyone on this list has bad draft picks. Bad FA signings, or extensions but the overall body work has been excellent to date.
Could make an argument for a few others. (John Lynch comes to mind but there are some reports that he reports to the HC on all decisions so not sure about that). Chris Ballard I think could be on the list soon. are some newer GM’s who might prove to be great but not enough time has passed to truly judge their work. (Andrew Berry, Eric DeCosta).
Dont think Belicheck makes the list anymore. When’s the last time he drafted a difference maker? But maybe after this offseason he proves us all wrong.
