No. And JRob has continued to say that Conk is a tackle which doesn’t help the Titans in my opinion.

We could’ve saved a 3rd rounder and played Conk and Kelly both on the right side.

If I was JRob, I'd probably do the same thing.

It would be hard for him to justify trading up into the top 10 of the draft to get a guy who would just inevitably be converted into a guard.

But if with other players who warrant another contract at the end of the season (also possibly Mariota depending on his play) he can spin it as "We has other players who we prioritized signing over Conklin."

At this point, if he isn't willing to play guard, there is no reason to have him. With his recovery at this stage he is not a good RT and people seem concerned he will never be again. I am willing to bet his main reason for not wanting to move is because he can't get the same money at guard. But, if I were him, I would rather be payed as a guard then not payed at all.

Actually, he can make just as much at RG as RT. A couple RT's get paid but it drops off heavily after. More RG's make more and if he plays better at RG, he'll get paid more than a mediocre RT.

This is all speculation and we don't know how he'll look at RT so...I was asking because someone said they'd read some things and I hadn't so I asked for quotes or links to an article.

Anyone else read anything about Conklin not looking good? I though he wasn't even participating in OTA's yet...?

I personally havent seen or read anything other than that message I replied to.

I pray to god they have great evaluation before on those OTA's even starts lol....

All it takes is 1 cup of water to lasso yourself a nice parasite that could put you down for months lol..

he's not... there are just a few on here who have been screaming for him to play guard all offseason, even though thats clearly not happening. theyve given up on him completely after 1 poor season coming off injury. kind of annoying.

Just to point out, I think he should play guard WHILE he is recuperating. I have never thought it should be permanent. If he can't keep up as a RT, play guard, let him get back into game shape and then move him back when he is ready. Instead they rushed back and things just got worse.

thats fair, but he should be fully healed by now, or damn close. if he's not then he has far bigger problems.

I haven’t seen any major reports indicating as such, but if it’s true, no doubt he has bigger problems going on.

It’s very hard to evaluate lineman in OTAs with no pads on

You can probably work on footwork and set/punch.

Which that's something Conklin honestly needs to work on and could improve. He's fine once he gets his hands on someone. His issue is he can't defend speed or an outside rush to save our QBs life.

I feel like he could do that when he was healthy. Maybe not amazingly, but waaaaay better than he has done since being injured. Just my opinion though.

He also had a TE protecting him every snap, just saying.

Titans have several key players in contract years, and *potentially* big contracts looming (Byard, MM, Henry, Ryan, Conk, etc). There has been a lot of talk on the radio lately about who is in and who is out. But seems like everyone has this being Henry's last year here, even if he has a good season.

In the scenario where Henry does have a big year, the overall sentiment seems to be that the Titans won't pay him. RBs are easily replaced via the draft so no need to spend big money on that position (this is what all the local radio talking heads seem to think)

But, are RBs really that easy to replace? Do they not remember the years of Bishop Sankey and Antonio Andrews?

Plus, if Henry does pick up where he left off last year, then you could be talking a top 5 RB in the NFL (rushing at least). We all saw how Henry could completely take over games. If that were to continue, does anyone really think we could just take any 2nd/3rd round back and get equal production?

Also, keep in mind Henry has not taken a lot of hits / caries over his 1st 3 seasons, so there would be a lot of tread left on the tires compared to other RBs entering their 2nd contract.

If Henry continues to play well for a full season, I say pay the man.
Henry is a rare RB, most thought he was too stiff and long to make it this far. Yet here we are...

I think anytime you hit on your draft picks you want to retain them. It sends a good message to your players. Plus RBs are cheap. If we can keep him for around 4 yrs $30M-ish I say do it. Cap is just gonna keep going up so it's no big deal to overpay the first year.

I mean who else can you run an offense thru for $8M/yr..?
