Desperate attempt at trying to force in a “funny” one-liner that makes no sense considering Morgan had a solid career. Wasn’t anything special but was definitely serviceable.

Derrick Morgan was average. He embodied everything wrong with the organization while he was here. He was really good at touching the QB down when he was already on the ground. He was really good against the Jaguars.

When he hit FA the first time he came crawling back because the offer the Titans made was the best one. The rest of the league knew what he was. In typical Titans' fashion, they paid an average guy big money.

Yea, he stated that he had some other things that he really wanted to get into so I think he wanted that more than playing any more football.
 
Heard on the radio he finished sixth in sacks in franchise history. That means the Titans haven't had many big-time rushers over the years.

I don't think he ever played up to being the player the Titans thought they were taking in the first but he had his moments. I just wish there were more of them.

He averaged less than 5 sacks per season. He just played a long time.

For instance, KVB is 7th in history with 38.5. He was a Titan 5 seasons.
 
He consistently won his battle. And I really can't remember him messing up at all. We just didn't have a lot of guys around him to take advantage of that.

He just wasn't the big play guy that one would hope for from a 1st round pick. And he was hurt a lot. He said 9 surgeries in 9 years.

This is sad but true. We drafted him out of need. IIRC, Giants were one pick ahead of us and grabbed JPP. I think we had him targeted. And we just went next highest grade DE after that. Big drop off.

Morgan was a good team member. Honestly- a depth player- never an impact player. Wasn't worth the mid 1st round pick we used on him.

He's a smart- team guy. I'm sure JRob liked having him around. He never showed his azz the way a lot of other players have done. I wish him the best.
