It also ain’t their money...

Henry has been consistently good since he's been a Titan. Honestly I don't understand why folks are so dead set against him getting what he deserves. He's been carrying large workloads since he was at Alabama.

I think Henry is the best Titans RB of all time and that's saying something with Eddie and CJ as former Titans.

You forgot Earl Cambell...this Franchise goes back farther than 1997. He very well could pass Earl, but he hasn’t yet.

In todays nfl, its usually a bad decision to sign rb on huge contracts. I thought the cowboys were crazy to extend elliot when Tony Pollard was the hottest rb in the game during preseason. Plus elliot is a thug. But henry is a different guy. Class guy. Good in the community. Hard worker. But he is the one back in the league that can impose his will at the end of games. Hes a unicorn. Pay the man what it takes!

Henry reminds me a bit of earl campbell. Surpringly fast for a big guy who can take over games at the end

Henry's gonna get paid, and deservedly so. He's already played himself into Titans’ lore. Now he has the opportunity to solidify that place in franchise history. The question now is how much he gets paid and by whom? In a perfect world, they keep him along with the core of this group, than add a better complimentary back. Even the great Derrick Henry is human. We don't need him worn to nothing in a year, or two.

I have been a little hesitant to pay a running back big money too, but Henry is a different beast. He is literally carrying this offense through the playoffs.

He is laying the groundwork for a Hall of Fame career and we’d be crazy to get rid of him. No way we win the past two game without him. In a passing league, we’ve only had to pass for 150-160 yards the past two weeks to beat the leagues best teams. That doesn’t happen without Henry.

He also doesn’t strike me as the kind of person that will roll over after a big contract. He’s a blue collar, hard nose type a guy who wants to be great and wants to win. Pay the man!!

Just not as physical as Cambell—doesn’t really run over and through people as much...but he will last a lot longer because of it.

I totally agree that Henry is not the type of player to quit after he signs a big deal. He wants to be great and he want to win. That gives me confidence that he will strive to live up to a big contract. But it will be a big contract.

I bet it will be around 6 years 100 mill...50-60 guaranteed at least.

One interesting variable in all this will likely be Chris Johnson and maybe Eddie George. CJ is really tight with Amy Adams Strunk, to the point where he's been quoted that if she was running the team back then, CJ would have never left. Sometimes personal relationships can be a factor in how negotiations go. Yes, its still a business. But if I'm TitansAmy, I'm thinking that Henry probably wants a 5 year deal instead of the 3-4 conventional wisdom would dictate and they may roll the dice thinking he's going to be more of a Frank Gore kind of back that still can be effective into his 30s. We'll see.

Try six years...five minimum

Right now he’s Earl in his prime....and then some
Totally agree he is playing like Earl in his prime and better. But he has to keep doing it. He is not better than Earl yet. Make the Hall of Fame and then you can have an argument Hagar he is better than Earl.

The hell with earl. Right now he's playing better than any back in the history of the game!

And if he doesn’t do it for a career or for a number of seasons he won’t be a hall of famer and Earl will be better.

Well yeah but im talkin bout right now. Dude is dominating like no other back has ever done

Or close to it, yes. Running the ball for sure—might be some past backs that have come close to the performance if you count receiving yds...but it is damn impressive regardless.
