Basically, the snap count is very predictable and defenses are allowed to get a jump and put the OL at a big disadvantage. Don't know if this is an OC or QB issue, but I think this has a big hand in the protection problems. And why Saffold has had a difficult time adjusting and showing issues he's never exhibited in the past.

Knowing the cadence (or lack thereof) is useless if the defense does as well .They practically know when the ball will be snapped and the OL will be scrambling to recover and match them. The human body can move forward a hell of a lot faster than it can backwards or laterally. That's what he's saying. I'm not sure why people play dumb just so they can "own" people or just use the "no excuses" caveman football mentality when there is a perfectly logical point to be taken from this and it aligns with what we're seeing.That’s if they know the count. A "late" snap count has been a Titans staple since the day they became the Titans... never seemed to matter who the HC was.Showed pictures in another thread but they allowed the defense to line up over the ball a bunch with no calls. Add on to this a predictable snap count and it will be rough on any o-line.seems they get to the line late and always snap with little time left also. That allows a defense to predict the snap.
Guy who thinks Mariota is good and constantly makes excuses for him vs a guy who had direct access to the thought process of the players and actually knows what he's seeing. I'll give the latter more credibility.
