Or like 2 and 48 in the playoffs
While I get your sentiment here, he’s 12-14 in the post season and in 21 years as head coach, he’s had less than 10 wins 7 times. 3 of those had 8-9 wins and in 14 playoff appearances, 5 were 1 and done.

Glad we have his number. I know he has clock management/late game issues but almost every team in the NFL would love him to be coach, probably titans included.

Id take him as oc without question. He manages 2 never get it done in the playoffs tho

He’d never be an OC again and you must mean strictly a SB victory. He’s been there once and 9 different times went to the playoffs and won at least 1 game.

For the sake of significance, here’s the titans/oilers last 9 seasons with a playoff win:
2017, 2003, 2002, 1999, 1991, 1988, 1987, 1979, 1978.

He’s gone 9 times, and won at least 1 game, since 2000.
As a franchise, it’s taken the titans 40 years to match that. And both are 0-1 in the SB.

All my point was is that no matter how good he has been he can never get over the hump.

Here’s another opinion that probably won’t be popular... It’s not all Lewan, or Saffold, or Conklin et cetera, et cetera. Our pass blocking overall is just trash. The scheme is trash. Something has to change. All these guys have had success in the past. Watching the games, it looks like mental errors. Nobody seems to know who is responsible for who. Look at how often defenders break through unblocked.

When guys are getting beat, they grab. It’s just a fact and it’s what they should do. I know Lewan has an ugly history of stupid plays and stupid penalties, but what we’re seeing right now, it isn’t all him, or any other individual player. It’s this trash pass blocking scheme.

I totally agree that the OL as a whole has played way way way below its potential....I don’t know if it is all scheme or the fact that they just haven’t played a ton of games together as a single unit....we have seen them all get beat on simple 1 on 1 action and they can’t seem to pass of a stunt to save their lives....if they get their act together this team will be tough to beat....they are the anchor holding us back at this point.

Good stuff to watch the interior OL as well. As long as defenses put 8-9 in the box, the interior OL is having to slow down so many rushers.

If Tanny continues to be effective in those quick slants, we'll see more space to run in the interior.

The OL dominated in the running game. A lot of good tape from Saffold as well. Baldy even did a cut up of one of Nate Davis's reps.

Yea, I love me some Baldy breakdowns especially when it comes to the lineman. Makes you really see how everything does start in the trenches and if 1 guy gets penetration the whole play is done. The Oline has been getting better but hopefully during the bye week they can clean things up. Watching these guys get off the ball and get a hat on hat while getting to the second level on some plays is good stuff. When these guys get this type of push off the ball and the running game gets going, the Titans are tough to slow down. Million dollar question of course is can they be consistent?

In the 2nd clip, 78 was helping Davis, it wasnt just Davis 1 on 1. But, that is what our oline needs to be doing, helping each other. That is why I think we need to replace the OL coach. They do not gel very often.
