I am at least as big a fan of this team as you. Every team is going to have bad football. I have been a fan of this team longer than you. Keeping aging expensive vets isn’t the route to success in the modern NFL. Hell, it wasnt before really. Do you think anyone remembers Earl Campbell as a Saint? Nope. Earl was an Oiler. Was Eddie George a Cowboy? No. So Byard is a Titan. It’s how he will be remembered. But it is time to move on. The Titans don’t have a QB or enough talent to win What we have WITH Byard is bad football.

It’s your opinion and you entitled to it, but it’s short sighted and ad wrong. What’s best for the Titans future is what matters. What YOU are advocating for is bad football and bad for the team. It offers for no future. The Titans thru the draft and with over $100 million in cap space can absolutely sign a bunch of studs.

This is what’s best. The run, what ever it was is O V E R. Time to move on Tuckfro42.
I’m sorry if you thought I was questioning your fandom. I’ll concede you are a bigger fan than I am and have been a fan for a longer period of time. However, your argument is still quite flawed. (I kind of think you are playing devil’s advocate and don’t fully believe your argument, but I could be wrong).

I remember Earl as a Saint, and Eddie as a Cowboy, and Steve as a Raven, and Keith as a Giant, etc. And, it all sucks. Letting those guys and countless others go before they were done availed the Titans/Oilers NOTHING. Seriously, the team was never directly made better because of losing “aging” and “overpaid” players. Now, before you go all “you idiot! It would be stupid to hold onto all players”, understand that I know successful teams have to eventually move on from players. The problem is, you have to replace them with someone as good, if not better, or you piss fans off and never get to the next level.

See, to be a successful team, you have to have a good mix of reliable veterans who are good leaders, and young, promising players who you hope will, one day, replace those veterans. Any plan that skews too heavily in either direction is short-sighted and wrong.

I understand why the Titans traded Byard, but I still think it sucks. Plus, we aren’t replacing him with Edmonds (or whatever) or anyone else this year. Free safety will now be a liability for the rest of the season. You think THIS is bad football? Nope.

Byard hasn’t been good.

Also I wasn’t trying to one up you. Just wanted you to know I’ve been a long time OilerTitan fan. Not some new fan. But I suffered through the Astros bad years that everyone hated and we have had a dynasty for the last 7 years because of it. ( Don’t hit me with the BS scandal. Every team in MLB was doing it ). It was worth those horrible years.

Totally worth it...

MLB and NFL are different sports. The Astros sold off all their vet players for prospects to build for the future, and it worked. If only the Titans had a farm system… other than the Patriots and Texans.

titans wearing the oilers helmets looks like desperate marketing to remind younger generation of the titans history...really who cares? they have been in TN over 25 years if the titan brass don't want to be here take the team and their field goals to a new city. The fan base here has been beyond patient with this mediocre and boring team

You’ve got a good point. But AAS is a good owner that wants to win. We turned it around when she became majority owner. And she was essential in securing a state of the art stadium.

The franchise has been terrible in scouting 2002-17 and average with JRob. He had “a king’s ransom” of draft capital to immediately work with. He rolled the dice on several vets and draft picks. More didn’t work out than did recently.

I have no idea if RC is good. We’ll see what he does. But I guarantee you the team will be on the rise as the new stadium nears completion.

Or maybe it's just the NFL updated the uniform rules and throwback oiler unis are the cleanest in the league?

It is a bummer the team sucks when these debut tho

no they were not all doing it... you are coping about your team cheating
just like michigan fans are right now.

no every team is not doing that either

No, they fielded a horrible team and won thru the draft.

So all NFL teams that have them wear throwback jerseys. It’s not the Titans it’s the NFL. It’s to make money. No desperation.

Yes, they were all sign stealing. That’s widely known. Just Not the way the Astros were, which stopped prior the the playoffs anyway, but every single team in baseball was trying to steal signs. The Astros just used cameras. They cheated. No doubt. Carlos Beltran came up with the idea with Alex Cora and the younger players followed him. No excuse. But zero evidence, and it has been investigated over and over, they did any of it in the playoffs in 2017. It stopped the night White Sox pitcher Danny Farquhar actually figured it out.

and exactly nothing wrong with traditional sign stealing involving the players on the field.... always been part of the game

as much as it pains me I credit that rookie twin 2b for clowning lonnie smith rounding second in the world series... also part of the game... embarassingly enough for lonnie smith

Almost got thrown out of a Navy softball game for doing the fake catch at 3rd. Runner was never going anyway but the ump said “that’s how people get hurt” on the idea I may have caused him to slide unnecessarily I guess.

I did quote the rule book or lack of rule on what he gave me a warning for. I was completely shocked as I didn’t even think he was talking about me at first when he just yelled some random warning.
