Jrob wont be resigning MM because of a couple wins vs Colts. He will resign him if he feels like he is the best option realistically available

Remember, this is the GM who fired his HC after a play off win

Mularkey refused to change. I don't think it had anything to do with wins and loses. At least that's the prevailing story out there on that whole thing.

That’s exactly my point. JROB isn’t going to keep a guy based on wins, he will keep him if he thinks he is best for the Job.

ie, a couple wins from a Luckless Colts team will have little sway on how JROB moves forward with the QB situation

Gotcha. I agree.

Wouldn’t it be ironic if Vrabel has a 2019 just like Mularkey’s 2017, with no Andrew Luck in our way?

doesnt' really effect us at all other than makes our games vs them seemingly easier
Also adds to the pool of teams looking for a QB next season.

Just for argument sake, if MM8 gets hurt or plays poorly and we're in the market for a QB, we were only going to have to compete against Miami, Cinci, and maybe one or two other teams for a new QB.

Now Indy will be too and may have more draft capital to go up and get one of the top guys.

its one spot difference, means nothing in the grand scheme of things, we wont have the firepower to get into the top 2 for a qb anyways

If history is any indicator, we don't have to get into the top 2 to get a great QB. Mahomes and Watson were just top 10 guys. We don't have to get a Tua, there will be some small school guy to blow up around draft time next year, and he could very well be the next Wentz or Mahomes.

I think this team would do a lot better than the 9-7 record Mularkey got that year. Hell, that team should have got more wins.
