Problem with that is your dbs would have to be very good tacklers. If Ingram starts getting the ball then we might be screwed. The best way of “stopping” Lamar is long, sustained drives with Henry which would keep their offence off the field. The browns had success with this in the first half of their week 16 game before they got cute with the play calling and fell behind.

Logan Ryan is a fantastic tackler, even of RBs. The rest of our CBs are not unfortunately. Maybe force runs towards Ryan. Also losing Jayon hurts a lot too. A shootout might be our best chance and that means we need good Tanny.

Is Jayon doneskies?

This is my oversimplified take on stopping Jackson.

Play 8 in the box.
As much speed on the field as possible.
Play man on WRs (Adoree shadows Brown all game).
Man coverage on TE’s

The entire Ravens pass offense is TE seam routes with the occasional bomb to Brown. If we can defend the TE seam routes then we can win this game

I fear Pees is so devoted to playing a soft zone I think we are in serious trouble.

Take away the run and force Jackson to make throws. I think that’s the only way we can pull this off
I watched several Ravens games on game pass today and their passing game is virtually devoid of WR routes except go routes...never saw a quick slant or 10 yd out or anything like that....tons off dump offs to RBs and then TE stuff...We need to force him to hand off to Ingram and make Ingram run between Casey/Simmons/Jones...I’m fine giving up 5 yards a pop to Ingram and milking the clock to avoid Lamar breaking off a 59 yard highlight run....if we can get him into a 3rd and long then we will be able to bait him into a bad throw by mixing up our coverage scheme.

Another thing.... When he does run, hit h hard. Try to strip the ball out. A fumble could be key.

We may have to rely on Tanny a lot this game if we can't run it up the gut like we did in Foxborough..

Yeah agree, I fear Henry won’t be as big a factor against this D as he was at NE. NE’s D fasted on some poor competition so statistically they were stats that weren’t as impressive as the Ravens imo. This Ravens D is fast and swarming Tanny is going to have to throw a lot more than he has to in NE which will expose our less than stellar pass protection. The more I look at this match up the less confident I am feeling unless we can
Jackson to stay in the pocket and make him throw but shutting down their running game. I wish I felt confident we can go toe to toe with them but I’m beginning to worry we may get waxed unless Smith comes up with a creative game plan to get Tanny and our WRs rolling early and often !

Mostert for the 49ers went 19 for 146 and most of his runs were off the edge...Garrapalo was 15 of 21 for 165 in a driving rain storm....Chubb went 20 for 165 when the Browns beat the Ravens...Mayfield was 20 of 30 for 346 (before the Ravens acquired Peters)

those are numbers that I could see happening,

The Ravens have jumped out to such leads in so many games that teams had to abandon the run.

Numbers don't always tell the story.

Anyone know about this secret playbook in Baltimore? Well no one knows exactly because it’s a secret.

Radio out here mentioned Ravens have been holding a book of plays back for the post season; since they cruised through and we’re bored during the regular season ...

Apparently they are going to unleash it starting vs us this weekend.

So... they are going to abandon what has worked all season and try something untested in the postseason.

Well obviously don’t fix what’s not broke so not abandon but maybe a set of special plays they have not used all season

Titans played a lot of man vs the Pats.

Problem with playing man against TE’s is we don’t really have anyone outside of Jayon who can hold their own.

Lamar's accuracy doesn't frighten me nearly as much as Brady's did...

Our run defense is a key focal point.. I think this game is more even matched than Mainstream will actually say... plus Baltimore has the 19th ranked run D, and they definitely don't have the defensive backs the Pats do. Tannehill's playaction game should open back up.

Wildcard will be who exactly is gonna spy Lamar. and How well can we keep him in the pocket.

Idk where you heard that but Baltimore has the 5th ranked run defense.

Sounds like noise

Ravens defense reminds me of the Jaguars defense they have big dudes inside so Henry should take everything out side and 1 on 1 the LBs.

Kinda strange to experiment with new stuff when what they've been doing has been so effective. Let's hope that blows up in their face.
