We finally got our first round Guard this year and all indications are we hit a home run.
Peter Skoronski seems to have it all, physical traits, passion for the game, work ethic, technique, and .... great character.

The Northwestern Football (seems this stuff is more common at elite private schools) recruiting scandal is huge news that has gone international. The story was broken by student journalists at the university:

Former NU football player details hazing allegations

Some of the stuff upper classmen did to freshmen is very appalling, even criminal. They include:
  • "Car Wash" -- two naked freshmen are forced to stand at the entrance of the shower. Other freshmen are forced to walk between them (naked of course) brushing up against both
  • Rookie QB and center are forced to perform QB-Center exchange naked. One tried to refuse to do it but was threatened with a punishment called "A Running" if he didn't
  • "Running" - Probably the most disturbing. Upper classmen would designate freshmen for this punishment by clapping over their head when an infraction occurred. Infractions included mistakes in games or practice, refusing to do other hazing (see above) or pissing an upper classman off. 6-8 upper classmen, wearing masks, would restrain a freshman in a dark room and take turns dry humping (sexually assaulting) him. This is prison movie type stuff
To give you an idea (don't worry, the video stops for before anything happens)

Was our Guard Peter involved? Was he "Run" as a freshman? Did he "Run" any freshmen? If involved was a he a leader?

Here is a list of Northwestern players in the NFL

I haven't read much into this and I don't condone hazing. But from reading the article, this seems pretty tame compared to most of the hazing experiences I've heard about.

.
I get that LBGTQ issues are a big deal now. But let's not minimalize what happened. No one has an issue with them engaging in homosexual acts. It's the "Forced" part that's an issue. Let's not minimalize it because it was other men. Also, not wanting another dude to rub his junk on your anus doesn't make you a homophobe.

If they did it to a woman they would be kicked out of school and brought up on charges
For sure. #metoo would destroy the guilty individuals and the individuals that didn’t partake but saw/knew about it, and anyone within the “chain of command”, and the AD, and the school president, and anyone else they felt like going after.

The entire coaching staff there should be fired, not just the HC

Because of kids hazing by other players?
“Fire everyone for letting kids do kid stuff.”
I think it’s a matter of known vs not known vs encouraged behavior.

agree, the entire coach staff should not be fired pending further information.

I would argue that this hazing isn’t exactly “kid stuff”. It’s for sure immature stuff and excessively stupid for young adults, but the key word is “adults” and they should know better.

So you think sexual assault is just kid stuff? Despite your feelings what they did fits the criminal definition of sexual assault. And the law doesn't care about your feelings

There is also a school rule against it.

You might enjoy having a bunch of guys hold you down and dry hump you but not everyone does. And it is sexual assault

Plausible deniability is a popular excuse. Much of this happened though in the locker room.

The point is they should've known and not pretend to be colonel klink

And you don’t think hazing goes on at every school?
Hell, it goes on in the NFL
No excuse for any “sexual assault”
Kids (the assaulters) should be punished
And yes anyone displaying that behavior is a “kid”!

And having like that doesn't go on in the nfl

That's why Joe Paterno was fired. Please tell me you think Jerry Sandusky was just having fun with the boys

Sandusky was child molester

He was, and these guys are sex offenders

Look, I'm not saying there can't be any hazing, even if the university does.

There is a clear line though and when it involves nudity and group sexual assault that line has been crossed.

This goes beyond taping a guy to a fence or making him carry equipment

Plausible deniability is definitely an argumentative point.
That came up so much in the Paterno case and it seemed like the court system kind of let guys like McQuery off the hook even though he was telling the story that he couldn’t say plausible deniability (I don’t believe he claimed it either).
I think there is real deniability among some of the coaches, maybe not all.
I think some are probably guilty of encouraging in one form or another, maybe even present as it happened.
