With the close of the draft, we get to easily the craziest part of the NFL offseason. Veteran free agency is a scramble, but it’s nothing like the insanity of undrafted free agency. Any draft-eligible player that was not selected in the seven rounds of the draft is free to sign anywhere he wants. The big upside to being a UDFA compared to being a seventh round pick is you get to pick your landing spot, and you can sign a three-year contract instead of a four-year deal. They are also allowed to renegotiate their deals after two years instead of the three for draft picks.
This year, things are going to be even crazier than normal. Normally players from schools close to NFL teams can quickly get to the facility to sign. Social distancing will prevent that this weekend. Additionally, teams normally have their scouts and executives in the same building to make quick signing decisions. They might normally make three or four offers with the intention of only signing one of the players. That will not be quite as simple this year.
Here are some of the best players available. Feel free to add to this list.
