Too rich for my taste for Thomas. I think he’s a bigger beneficiary of Brees, than he is the best WR. I can think of at least 4 WRs I’d put above him.

I don't feel like looking it up. Who can think of the last time Brees DIDN'T have a 1,000 yard receiver?
 
Makes me feel for Davis honestly. If he had a guy like Brees feeding him the ball, he'd be putting up monster numbers. Thomas is solid, but he's not worth $20M if a HOF QB isn't throwing to him.

That's true, but they really don't have anything else going on besides Kamara. They didn't have a choice.

His cap hit will be around $16M in his first two years after his rookie contract expires, then they can get out of it for an $8M dead cap hit. It's easier to pay your own guys , as you can allocate some of the signing bonus to the portion of their rookie contract still remaining. It's what we did with Byard, which is how the richest contract ever for a safety is actually a 1 year $11M deal which we can wash our hands of for a $5M dead cap hit afterward.

Davis doesn't sound like he's exactly under the radar based on interviews I've heard on Nashville sports radio, so he'll get paid
