I know this sounds a little crazy... but the time between the end of football in February, to the start of preseason in August, feels virtually never ending to someone living abroad. There is nary a trace of American culture here in Taiwan (cept a Starbucks and a Micky D’s), so keeping up with the NFL season both on Gotitans with y’all and via streaming football with NFL game pass is the closest thing I have to home sometimes.

This year the offseason looked daunting... but flying back to Nashville with my wife and meeting up with the gang for the Draft (in the VILLE!) was one of those life affirming moments that will help carry me through countless off seasons to come. Man that was epic as f*{<.

Shout out to AAS for bringing one of the best fan bases in sports a truly memorable time we’ll be telling our grandkids about.

Seasons around the corner boys. Gettin ready to log back in witcha and will our boys to victory!

February to August feels never-ending for us here too lol

I have been there, living in Asia having to watch games at 1 am lol.

At least the NBA is huge where I lived, biggest sports league, so I did get that aspect of North American culture. And there are NFL fans there.

We killed the draft. I am still in awe over how well it was done
All other cities are envious

I know what you mean. I lived in Sweden for only 6 months and ate nothing but American fast food for like a week after I got back. You don't notice the little things until you leave. I would assume it is worse in Taiwan.

Are you there for work or did you just decide you wanted to live there?

At least the food is good in Taiwan

Swedish food is :puke:

Yeah man it sucks. No other way around it. It's like they discovered sausage, liver, and potatoes... Then decided that was the pentacle of food and stopped all innovation lol.

Like I said though Sweden is a straight westernized country and I was still feeling homesick from the culture difference. I would imagine long stays in a place like Taiwan would be much worse, so kudos for being able to make it happen @Dangermode.

Football is right around the corner.

My brother-in-law's sister is married to a Swedish guy and lives in Stockholm. She made his whole family a traditional North American Christmas dinner for the extended family while my sister and her husband was there. The Swedish family had zero interest in it lol. They wanted their gross fishy stuff.

Pretty much the same out here in Dubai. Basketball has a decent following, but not a football town by any means.

The struggle is real :)

Dude, when I got back from a week in Europe I was dying for fat filled and greasy foods. I have no idea how they survive over there. The Doner was good till I found out it was lamb meat.

3 courses. Awful. They did have this special seasonal soft drink that supposedly they only serve in Sweden during the holidays.

I don't remember what it was called but I really liked it.

NHL is pretty damn good filler. If you can make a game in one of the better arenas sometime do it. You won't be disappointed. Those players are just as (probably more) athletic as NFL and you're right up on the action. And it nice and cool inside.

Decided I wanted to live here and then started an adventure tour company. Pretty epic where I live in Hualien. Been starting to miss the States these days a bit though. Then I spend a Monday afternoon swimming under a waterfall and I realize why I chose this life haha.

February to April isn't as bad for me, as it builds anticipation of the draft and who wemight get... but immediately after the draft ends, it plummets for me. As the only things you'll be able to hold onto until August is glorified practice interviews and highlights...

True that. The lead up to the draft and free agency are awesome. Then nuthin. But now we’re just like three weeks to the first preseason game! Holy crap!
