SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- Assistant head coach Mike Singletary
will stay with the 49ers after he was removed from the list of
candidates for the Detroit Lions' head coaching job, San Francisco
coach Mike Nolan said Tuesday.
Singletary, the Hall of Fame linebacker who played for the
Chicago Bears, was interviewed by Lions president Matt Millen
earlier in the month. Singletary, who's also the 49ers' linebackers
