Regardless of hater or lover of our QB could any die hard Titans fan really come up with any possible explanation on earth of how Marcus Mariota + Ryan Tannehill is a better situation than Drew Brees + Teddy Bridgewater.

Well it looks like Bridgewater might not even be the backup...and there is fear Brees will decline. Look at his last 5 games or so last year.

Mariotas last 5 games last year: 4 TD's 2 INT's 13 sacks

Brees last 5 games last year: 7 TD's 4 INT's 8 sacks

I still don't see how even if Brees is declining provides a worse situation than Mariota. Please enlighten me. Also the fact that Tasyom Hill is battling Teddy so hard for the backup shows that New Orleans has 3 QB's that can play.

Teddy is taking a page out of Nick Foles playbook. Putting off your paydays while having to do minimal work is genius. QB salaries just keep going up and up every year.

I like Teddy's game a lot as you obviously know, but injuries are real. If he can hang out with Drew Brees while his stock goes up he should do it.
 
This article is crazy. We have a starter that is mediocre at best who is always hurt, and a cast off from the dolphins as a backup. Is Tannehill the best backup? Maybe. Is that like being the tallest midget? Yup.
 
They only reason I can think we're in this category is he sees it as with our back up we should still win the games we're meant to and lose the 1s we should. Is that a gd thing for the team probs not unless you got the goat at starter or similar calibre
 
Yeah I don't get how you can call a situation where the starter is so consistently inconsistent and unreliable even remotely "enviable". Even if we had the best 3 backups in the league behind him it shouldn't override having an actual elite starter.

One of the sillier articles I've seen in awhile.
 
I believe a wise man once said - "if you have two quarterbacks, then you have none."

Tannehill is here for a reason - he was a bust in Miami. I see no reason to think hes going to emerge as a star here

Mariota ... i mean hes shown flashes between his rides off the field on a cart.

Nothing to envy about this position. If anything its disgusting to see all the talent we have in other positions just going to waste. I think Tannehill is more or less here to transition us to the next QB when Mariota fails to meet expectations this year and we have to start looking to the draft for our QB of the future... an updated version of Kerry Collins.
 
Mariota, whom this franchise used the #2 pick to be the QB of the future, is inconsistent and injury prone, and hasn't really even improved all that much since his first year. Mariota is also someone who probably already hit his ceiling and will be transitioning to his role as a journeyman backup next season. Tanninhill, our backup QB, is a preview of what Martioa will become next year.

Some QB situation. Depressing if you ask me.
 
Historically, think we have two below average qb's, but given how weak the league is, they are probably both average among their peers. It's an ok situation, but nothing to hang your dead bodies on.

Football starts sept 8th.everybody will be back and we will run our real plays for the entire game. I wouldn’t get too torn up over a lackluster preseason game in the rain
