SUMMARY: In life, nothing ever stays the same. That is, unless you are a Tennessee Titans fan. Though the faces may have changed, the results look a lot like the previous two seasons as the favored Titans fell 23-16 to the Jets.

This game, as has become too common the past couple of seasons, was marked with inconsistencies and mistakes. The Titans came out flat offensively and dug themselves into a 16-0 hole. The LP Field Boo Birds let their voices be heard early and often as newly-acquired QB Kerry Collins looked extremely rusty and out of synch throwing passes out of bounds or at the feet of receivers. When he was accurate, he was the victim of dropped passes.

QBs-F Collins starting was a bad choice and he played poorly. RBs-B Ran hard with very poor blocking for the most part WRs-B had some drops but made some plays on poorly thrown balls. OL-F Pitiful Off Coaches- F poor play calling why 2 yd passes inside the 10 at end. DL- B+ Stopped run couldnt get rush with 3 step drop with WRS wide open. LBs- C Didnt make enough plays when needed. CBs- F Pitiful couldn't cover or tackle. Safetys- C- Needed to cover better. Def Cor- F- Poor plan let guys have to much cushion wont blitz. Special teams- C No big plays and gave up long return at critical point. HC- F Poor choice at QB should have played VY must get better plan from Cor.

Was there ever a first down by the Titans when you thought we would do anything but run. If you ask me, it's not as hard to stop the run when you know when its coming. How about mixing it up a little on 1st down?? Just an idea.

Pitiful, ugly and unexcusable.
The only bright sides, Henry was hot regardless of those blocking for him. Finnegan dishing out the wood.

I thought Hall looked pretty good when they were using him. Then it seemed like they changed their game plan and quit using a FB to run block, which in itself is ignorant. If Chris Brown is going to be our guy he needs hall in the game. Look at how much better Eddie was when he had Lorenzo Neil blocking for him. Its just plain common sense and for some reason we don't do it.

Explain to me why Brown wasn't given the ball more often, considering he went 16 carries for 64 yards... someone startede a thread suspecting the team of tanking on purpose, certainly there's circumstantial evidence to support this.

Same goes for not getting Troupe the ball more. Granted, he really flubbed a easy one but that's no reason to give up on him. He almost always gets extra yardage when he gets the ball. He's one of the few play makers we have and I didn't see us pass to him more than one or two time in the first half. If you ask me, he should a bigger part of our game-plan.

Funny, Fisher never asks me....

Brown would have had more carries if we were not down 16-0 early. One reason Troupe didn't get the ball more might have been the QB.

Except for QB I think we have solid skill postion players. Brown and Henry compliment each other with Henry looking good on the short yardage. Our WRs with the exception of a few drops got in space and Wade and Troupe are great after the catch. Hand the starting job to VY now that they scewed Volek and let him learn on the job.

Collins did look rusty in spots, but, Bennett dropping the ball on 3 key spots when it was on the money did not help. Also, the final play was not the Collin's fault. The pass was there. It was just decent D.

RB's - I agree. Looked pretty decent.
WR's - I would give a C mainly due to Bennett's drops on key downs.
OL - C. Played well enough to win.
Coaching - Maybe should have called a run, but I don't think we had a timeout left and that would have killed 2 downs, so passes made sense. Give them a D for the loss.
LB's - Pretty decent play here. All are playmakers and were fairly solid. - B
Secondary - Made Pennington look like Manning - Here's your F! and we paid Chris Hope how much?
D game plan - stop the run: Did it. Stop the pass: Mission failure: F.
Overall score: D for 3 quarters and B for the other because the game was winnable, but it just did not get done. Way too many mistakes.:irked:

We were down by 16 at halftime, don't tell me you can't run the ball when you have a whole half to catch up. Also Brown only had 8 carries for 25 yards in the first half, it's not great, but certainly no reason to give up on the run.

What else can we expect from a clueless administration. I know that this is a business but it should be run as what it is, a GAME. In a game there should be trust, loyalty and passion, all of which are none existent when the heads use players as chess pieces without taking into consideration that chess pieces don´t do anything, just represent a given value. Players DO make the difference in a team sport. These people are failing to see that "their" team exists because there is a group of people that chose to stand behind it, so they should be more careful whenever they are playing god to uplift their clearly weak egos.

I don't think we should have called a run either with a minute left I just don't understand why we throw to outs that gained a total of 4 yds . The clock kept running on one and we had to use our last time out on the other. It's very hard to score on a 2 yd out that close to the goal line why didn't we take 4 shots at the endzone. I don't know if Chow called those 2 plays or Collins checked to them but IMO we threw away 2 downs with little chance to score on either one.

Well on a couple of those short throws they would have given us some yardage plus allowed the receiver to create YAC and at the lest to go out of bounds to stop the clock... had the throws been on target, which they weren't

I can't believe we just kept playing Collins yesterday. The HC gets the worst grade. If Fish tried all the options and we lose, okay, but you just knew KC couldn't get it done. I thought I'd soften once he got here, but he is just flat out terrible, and there is very little room for him to get better.

I hate it when Jeff Fisher likes people too much. Collins, Sirmon, Thompson, Piller, etc.

Don't blame Hope for Pennington's spot on passes, Hope did the best he could. Pennington just made the throws.

This was Hope's coverage on the TD
I was sitting in that endzone, and it looked like Hope was a step to far behind him.

Hope was in the best position possible to stop that pass...sometimes you just cant stop it, that was a perfect pass...Brown should have been given the ball more, and collins shouldnt have been kept in, he needs more practice to shake the rust..heck we should have put VY in at the end so he could run it in for the tying TD if there was no passing option open

Collins looked like a QB that had been preparing for less than 2 weeks in a new offense. Oh yeah, he was one. I think under the circumstances, he did ok. He wasn't great, but the receivers did not help him. Bennett had too many drops; Troupe caused 1 of the interceptions and we need Givens to get healthy. I agree we should have run more, but hey, we didn't. We did not under any circumstances need to put VY in at the end of the game. If he is ready for that, then he should already be named the starter. I wanted him to get some PT, but he doesn't need the weight of the game on his shoulders just yet. He will be starting soon enough. I got to believe he is the QB by game 7 based on the remaining schedule going into the bye week. Look for him to start in Houston Week 8.

From the TV angle I thought Hope had excellent coverage, but the ball was put perfectly on the receivers outside shoulder and he was able to shield Hope from getting to it.
