Kicking it would have put us up 8, did Vrabel really not trust the defense to keep them out of the end zone for 15 seconds? Or was Vrabel that confident Henry would just easily run through the defense again and effectively end the game right there?

really... 2 pointer wins the game... not getting 2 pointer still leaves it tied

he took a shot at winning the game. I dont hate that in the least.

I understand the argument for kicking and making other team go for 2 to tie. But have you seen Titan FGAs lately. They are on a milk carton. Have not tried a FGA in like over a month - LOL

Go up by 9, game is over.

Go up by 8, game could still potentially be tied, but the probability is extremely low.

Go up by 7, game could still potentially be tied, but the probability is still extremely low. Losing is possible now, but only as likely as the game being tied up by 8, which was extremely low.

Which I am not sure is highly impressive or horribly sad.

The games over if you get it.

I think he trusted Henry to get 2 yards more than he trusted the defense to stop a hypothetical two point conversion.

You also have to keep in mind our kicker shaved the upright with the ball on one extra point already.

Didnt work but I agreed with it at the time.

I personally didn’t agree with it, but understood it. I think you take the XP here.

If NE scored, one of us would have had to go for 2.

So would you rather try it with Henry, Tanny, and our O?
Or would you rather have tried to stop Brady, Belichick, and McDaniels?

I'll take our chances on O.

I think when you can close the door on an opponent you make the effort

Everyone thats mad we didnt settle for points needs to think back to the days we lived off field goals and how we always complianed about it then.

Now we have a offense with some guts. And take note of the record since we made the QB change.

Going for things has gotten us here. Trust Vrabels attitude

He was just trying to close the door on any chance for a miracle comeback. Would not have been necessary if Ryan had just taken a knee outside the end zone.

2 sealed the deal. 0 really doesn't hurt in that scenario because it's really unlikely they score and even more unlikely they go for 2 to win.

Worst case scenario is the Patriots score with less than 20 seconds and tie the game up with an XP and go to OT. The odds of them scoring were so very low that it didn't matter if the 2 point was good or not, but it was worth taking a shot since 2 points would have won the game.

Risk/reward

Reward - game over

Risk - still up 7. Already an extremely small chance for NE to get the TD but mostly likely only giving up a tie.

No risk (kicking the XP) - almost the same % as the risk going for 2.

The real answer is that Logan Ryan made a selfish play.
I listened on the radio and heard INT and missed the TD on the call.
I thought it was game over kneel down til I realized he scored.

After watching the highlight I can understand though. Not only did he think that was a game ending play, but running forward off the tip, he only had about 3-4 steps to pay dirt.

While true its not like he had time to think... was instinctual imo

I was half-joking.
