Every 2 Week Check in, I'll remind people. Post your stats here and what you ideally want to be and let's hit our goals.

12/16/20 Stats:

Height: 5-9
Waist (Belly Button): 39 inches
Weight: 196 lb

Ideal Waist: 34 inches
Ideal Weight: 175-180 lb

Goal Date: Hope to achieve by March 16.

5'9 with a 39 inch waist and you do not even weigh 200? Seems hard to believe.

You need to build some muscle. Not trying to be a jerk.

Age 62
5'10
218
35 waist.

Insulin dependent diabetic, last AIC 6.5. That is after reducing my daily insulin lantus(long acting) and Humalog(Short acting) 25%.
Total cholesterol 208
Slightly above normal triglycerides.

Working out at Planet fitness 6 days a week so a lot of muscle there. Ideally I would like to lose 19 lbs of fat without losing any muscle. That way I would be a real solid well defined 200 lbs. I'm setting a 6 month goal for that.

Not to brag but I am incredibly fit for a man my age. The leg press machine goes up to 400 lbs and I can do 120 reps straight. I do that at the end of my workouts.

One thing I simply do not like very much are protein shakes. I stopped using them. Better to use food for protein. I make high protein chili and meat loaf.

I just need to reduce my fat and carb intake but working out you are hungry all the time.

There is an Arnold Schwarzenegger video about bulking up. He says that body builders need a gram of protein for every pound of body weight. When he was competing for Mr Universe he weighed about 250 so he was consuming 250 grams a day! That is 1000 calories a day just from protein!

For my purposes 100 grams a day is enough. You cannot just eat less. You need to work your muscles and consume an above average amount of protein.

@RollTide in here posting about bulking up in a weight loss thread lol wut
For some of us fatties, "bulking up" isn't necessary BUT there is a connection.
Calories burned weight lifting and such should be higher than cardio business.
So while losing weight (or possibly not even losing weight by lbs.) people can transform the look and have it longer lasting vice losing any of those gains super quick.

Started deployment at 5' 10" appx 220-225.
My job consists of sitting in a chair for the majority of the day, but I get my cardio in, typically 3x a week.

Just food change and the requirement to go up and down ladder wells (Navy steps) for all meals helped me lose a little over 20lbs. since Nov.

5'10" still (lol)
but I'm down to appx 200.
Lots of running. Not impressive to any actual runners, but impressive to me, I ran a full marathon within 1 week, 7 days (26.2 miles).
I also enjoy the Row machines which is a bit more of a workout. I avg about 7200 meters in 30 minutes.
