Below is a list of Dion Lewis snap counts this year from most to least and if we won the game

Jags 42 snaps Loss
Panthers 34 snaps Loss
Indy 29 snaps Loss
Denver 27 snaps Loss
Browns 24 snaps Win
Bills 22 snaps Loss
Bucs 20 snaps Win
Chargers 17 snaps Win
Falcons 17 snaps Win
Chiefs 15 snaps Win

Could someone please make sure that Arthur Smith sees this....

You guys just don't understand the two backs have different limitations.

Henry plays a lot when we're in the game or have the lead.

Lewis plays a lot when we're trailing because he blocks and catches better.

This shit isn't hard.

Even though he's slightly better at catching those are always screen passes and he get's blown up as soon as someone breathes on him, so he's still useless as it never amounts to anything anyway. Plus it's a green light for the D to blitz as they know its a passing play.

If its 3rd and long you know its the draw play or the dump off in the middle of the field to Lewis

We were down 9 in the 4th Q against the Chiefs but Lewis didn't see the field

We were up by 1 going into the 4th against the Colts and Lewis had 29 snaps that game

The stats just don't show that Lewis is more productive in the passing game than Henry...

Lewis 20 receptions for a 4.8 avg with 4 1st downs and only 1 play over 20+ yards

Henry 13 receptions for a 12.8 avg with 4 1st downs and 2 20+ yard plays

Lewis is not a threat in the run game or the passing game.....Henry has shown that he can make quick strike scores in both....

I want my playmakers on the field as much as possible whether we are winning or losing

It's a passing down anyway. Henry doesn't even look to the sideline on 3rd and 5. He just comes out because it's a Lewis sub package.

You guys don't know how third down backs work, do you?

How many in the 4th quarter? Those are two entirely different criteria you just mentioned.

Lewis 20 receptions for a 4.8 avg with 4 1st downs and only 1 play over 20+ yards

Henry 13 receptions for a 12.8 avg with 4 1st downs and 2 20+ yard plays
Henry's numbers are inflated by one 70-yard pass where Art called a great play and all Henry had to do was run in a straight line to the end zone.

Great job of Art putting his players in a position to succeed.

Lewis is not a threat in the run game or the passing game.....Henry has shown that he can make quick strike scores in both....
It's also about not getting your QB killed. Lewis is a better blocker. Sorry about the facts.

I do too. We should get a RB who can play in both facets of the offense.

Direct correlation betweens punts and scoreless possessions.

Hey Art and Vrabel, stop calling punts. They are drive killers.

Bull

Hes suppose to be better, but he isnt

Henry should get 80% of the snaps from here on out

If Lewis were just getting 3rd down snaps that would be fine with me because then he would only be getting 12 snaps a game because that is the avg number of 3rd downs we have. If Lewis were effective when he was in the game that would be a different story as well, but our 3rd down conversion rate has us 27th in the league....now obviously you can't blame Lewis for the OL putting us in 3rd and long, but I have more faith in Henry picking up the yds than Lewis.

No doubt that in the games that we get behind Henry sees less carries, but he shouldn't see that dramatically different snap count.

Lewis had a huge block on that big Tannehill run on the last drive. He would have taken him down in the backfield if not for that effort.

Sounding a lot like “anti-Bama”.

The point Titans2004 is making is we brought Lewis here to be a change of pace back and he's not panning out. He doesn't help us much when he's on the field. A RB that's good in pass protection is a bonus but that's not why we signed him.

Take that up with the three coaching staffs going back to college that don't throw Henry the ball, not me.
Didn’t know he played catching back. His hands aren’t as bad as some say. If you look at his Bama record, he broke a ton of passing yardage.

yesterday, down by 9 with 6:00 left in the game, all Henry.

I agree they both have different skill sets, blocking being the big difference to me, but there have been a couple backwards games. The panthers and Bucs games come to mind.
