I really think that a class action lawsuit should be filed against the NFL and the owners over the fraud that they are committing by making season ticket holders pay full price for the pre-season.

It is fraud to sell this product as an NFL game which is what they currently are doing. What % of players who played last night will be on an NFL roster this yr??? Not many. But the league forces you to pay for that by claiming it is an NFL game. In my opinion, it isn't an NFL game if the players aren't receiving their real game checks for the game.

I'm sure that the cost of a commercial isn't anywhere near what it is for a "real" game.

Other professional sports do not require their season ticket holders to pay full price for pre-season games and most of them don't even include the pre-season games in the season ticket package. Why is this??? Because they know that it is wrong to try and sell fans a full price ticket for a product that isn't a full product.

The owners are greedy and they know it, but this has gotten ridiculous and maybe facing a true class action lawsuit would force them to make a change.

I doubt a lawsuit would do anything but I agree that the season ticket holders get screwed by having to pay full price for the pre season games m

Fraud is generally defined in the law as an intentional misrepresentation of material existing fact made by one person to another with knowledge of its falsity and for the purpose of inducing the other person to act, and upon which the other person relies with resulting injury or damage.

This is what pulls up as the legal definition of fraud. Sure seems like they are committing fraud by forcing you to pay full price for a product that they know is not a full product

You are not forced to purchase the tickets. You know what the quality of PS is going to be.

Otherwise I should be able to bring a class action suit toward Mariota for his misrepresentation of a starting NFL QB. But I watch regardless... still knowing the quality of play will be below average...

I don't think you can call it fraud or even that the NFL is misrepresenting the product itself. What is wrong is holding PSLs hostage because, if the owner refuses to pay for preseason games, they lose their investment.

All the NFL would do is funnel the preseason prices into regular season game tickets which, IMO, is a better solution because, right now, my regular season face is $110 and I have to sell them for $150 or more to offset the cost of the preseason games I can't sell.

IMO by charging regular season prices and forcing us to buy them, the NFL is saying that they are putting an NFL quality product on the field because it is priced just the same. But we all know the product is garbage and that the majority of players in last nights game will not be on an NFL roster this time next week.

Having the worthless pre-season games does probably keep people from buying season tixs with the sole purpose of scalping them because as you point out it is hard to make up that pre-season lost money.

Do I think that a class action suit would actually win in court??? Probably not...but the bad publicity of a well crafted class action lawsuit would probably help the owners decide to speed up the process of changing the current system

The NFL has no issues with bad pub

theyd just laugh at the suit

There's no point to the pre-season anymore. Literally none. The only one's getting reps are the refs and the broadcast teams.

You know the gig when you sign up for season tickets. If you don’t like having to pay for the preseason then don’t buy season tickets. It’s fairly simple.

Fans/PSL/TICKET buyers have only ONE way to make an impact....simply STOP buying the product. I have not had season tickets for 5 years, after being an original PSL owners (Including the MEMPHIS SEASON FROM HELL, well the commute anyways...LOL), I have also stopped NFL Sunday ticket. I still watch games...unless the "mail it in TITS" show up....usually about 4-5 times per year...then I just go for another ride. F'em...if they don't care....I don't have to either.

One way to force the owner’s hand is for PSL holders to unionize. State beforehand they aren’t paying for preseason games and then all agree to payment plan and withhold last payment short of practice game costs.

Then this thing gets traction.
