Yeah why not cut henry too. Will save a bunch of moneyI am not sure if this has been discussed, but if we cut Byard after June one, we save around 12 mill in cap space this year. I am pretty sure that this year we can find equal talent at a much lower price after June 1. What are your thoughts on this possibility?

I don’t think they will because of a few reasons... I disagree on finding equal talent for a lower price. I think you are basing your judgement of him on last season which is a mistake. It’s 1 year. Byard is a Top 10 NFL safety. He is only 27. He is very good. The entire defense played poorly last season. So I know some people hate to hear this, but COVID mattered and affected some players or teams more than others. Lack of a pass rush and injuries had players out of position and with no real leadership the defense was a mess. That’s on Vrabel.
I also don’t think you are correct on his cap hit. His salary escalates and is fully guaranteed oddly enough, TODAY. His dead cap is $17.1million. He isn’t going anywhere,
I think Byard will be a pleasure to watch again now that we have the makings of a great pass rush.

I hope you are right on his talent assessment. And if you are, cutting him would be a mistake.
on the dollars, I am using over the cap which has his current cap hit at 15 mill but dropping to 3.3 mill after June 1. So maybe that site is just wrong?
I agree with this and hope you are right about Byard. At times last season, he looked like he forgot how to play football. Lots of factors beyond him.I don’t think they will because of a few reasons... I disagree on finding equal talent for a lower price. Read that and see if my old eyes are reading it correctly. Looks like it says down towards the bottom that his salary is fully guaranteed for 2021 on 3-21-2021. They restructured him last season.
Oh, you are saying just for this year. Sure, but that is not how the cap works. If we cut him June 1 he still gets the money for the year, but our cap hit drops from 15 mill to 3 mill. So we are talking about different things.
Aaahhhh... so what is the dead cap number then?
