I'm not big on retiring numbers, but if the organization is going to refuse to re-issue them, we might as well make it official.

I'm with Fry on this one, but if it is going to be done, those are the two I would pick.

The Titans wouldn't be the Titans without those 2.

While we had others in key positions... those 2 made this team beast.

EG is the franchise leader in rushing yards, not sure what more you’d look for to retire a # for a team.
McNair is just pretty good and probably the best Titans QB, still top 5 franchise.

No beef with either and it doesnt appear there is a long list of new players worthy that are waiting in the wings. Not gonna run out of numbers any time soon.

I go beyond that and consider those 2 guys established the new Titans... in Nashville AND in the league.

As much love as I have for Steve and Eddie, I don't like retiring numbers. And they never won a title, let alone multiple titles. Ring of honor was enough imo.

Mac and Eddie are Titans royalty! I don’t mind the retirement of their numbers, BUT It does set a somewhat low standard for a retired number. I think it shows our lack of real success, celebrating players that almost got it done. If other teams used the same standard, they would be out of numbers. BUT they were the original titans we all took for granted not knowing Vince young’s and Jake lockers would put us in purgatory.

Guys it has to be 9 and 27. Who the F else is even close to being the good kind of famous since the Oilers became the Titans? lol
