Can someone explain to me why we're 2-0 vs starting QB's, but 0-2 vs back up QB's? Just seems really odd to me.

Let's hope Josh Allen starts next week and doesn't sit out this game.

I just don't understand why we seem to always struggle against back up QB's.

Brisket is a starter

so was Minshew for that matter.

Both teams game planned for them

Indeed he's a starter, but was slated for a backup role to start the season.

I'm talking about QB's drafted or signed to play starter in the NFL.

Where have you been?

Titans have struggled against backup QBs for YEARS.

And I don't get it.

I'd rather face a starting QB than a back up. Sad, but true.

Let's hope Josh Allen starts next week. Then again, I would rather face Barkley over anyone.

Yeah, none of us get it, either... same with TEs against us.

We aren't losing to QBs, the defense has played very well each game, the offense has let the team down.....now if OUR QB could play consistent ball.....

Hasnt Barkley beaten us before? I swear I remember that happening... Or maybe almost beat us?

He almost got us when he played with the Bears. Thankfully his WR's at the time let him down and dropped a pass or two that saved our day.

There wasn't enough tape on Minshew to seriously game plan against him. It takes about a full season worth of tape to spot tendencies and inherent weaknesses.
With Brissett they should have known better than they did, but I believe he's playing a different game more tailored to his skillset than in years past. Luck's injury didn't come out of nowhere, so Indy made allowances for Brissett's limitations and strengths.

But either way, I agree with many others, that this team always seems to struggle against BU QBs.
That's just how it is.

we sit back 10 yards off LOS and rush 4 thinking that works

every single time

we play so soft vs backups, watch

This sounds like loser talk. We didn't lose two games because we faced backup QBs. We lost because we played like crap.

The 2018 Titans were a jekyll and hyde team capable of playing well above or below any of their competition. And so far, it looks like the 2019 Titans are more of the same. Idk how to explain it.

I think it's similar to the way we seem to play down to the competition. We smack beat Brady and the Pat's, and turn around and lose to the worst team in the NFL the following week.

I think the team has a problem taking weak teams (or backup QBs) lightly and it comes back to bite us.
