It’s always disappointing to have optimism with what looked like some positive changes only to find out they’ve gotten themselves into the conversation, if not leader, for worst team in the league.
The only thing I can think of that was changed by the D, was score related.
Titans got away from running pretty early. Wasn’t really necessary down 10, but I understand why.
Around the start of the 4th, GB just knew that running the ball was out the window, so the pass rushers just T’d up on...
The biggest issue with that is that Ski, Latham, and Cush should be considered “set” pieces.
That and the fact Biscuits was able to make lesser guys look like a competent OL regardless if he used the extra TE.
I agree nothing is clear in 3 games. Today was a giant red flag of concern though.
While it sucks to lose in that fashion weeks 1/2, totally acceptable to lose close, competitive games after rebuilding. I’d argue that being competitive all year long, even if on the short end mostly, could...
I think this is true. and it’s fair to try defining what exactly constitutes a rebuild and when rebuild is no longer applicable.
I believe today, teams can rebuild in 1 year at least to competitive, maybe not immediate SB contenders.
Mahomes also took over a playoff team, Brady did the same and quite frankly was not why NE won their first 3 SB, yet alone the first.
I agree you need more than a QB and I agree that expecting SB in 1 year is unrealistic. I even specified that improvements should be seen in year one...
I think the mentality of rebuilds needing multiple years is false today. 10-15 years ago, probably necessary but there are examples of many teams that show big improvement after 1 year.
With the money spent all around the roster, titans made the moves to give every opportunity to their QB...
Depth I can agree, but I’d argue that is not a “rebuild”.
OLB just got a big contract for Landry, then added Murray as almost the first FA signed. Arden key?
Levis is a huge piece to this for sure. Reality is, he was the first piece drafted for “rebuild” even if it wasn’t Callahan’s guy.
And...
What? I specifically said the Right side wasn’t addressed and that NPF needs replaced.
I understand people say this, but who needs replaced to continue/complete the rebuild?
We are in agreement on the right side of the OL, which Ran did not address.
but by saying we are still in rebuild and...
I don’t think Levis had a good game but he’s not the blame by himself.
I’ll also ask because I did during the game, what needs rebuilt?
Ran signed someone new at almost every position. The only area that wasn’t addressed at all was RT/RG.
of the guys signed, a couple were obviously top of the...
They lost 2 very winnable games but even had they won, not really looking like champs, just not absolute bottom feeders.
I can’t even make the case that they overlooked GB because of Willis. Since they got so beat down from the get go, they weren’t good enough to do anything.
I don’t have a...
Jeff Simmons was a first.
But overall I think you can go further back than 20 years. Really back to 1996, almost 30 years.
A couple contributors but far from anyone game changing.
Callahan better do something.
We suffered 1 full season with the whizzenator but he was only given a short leash the next year and ultimately canned.
Titans have, on paper, a much better roster than he had.
Damn. Comebacks and upsets.
Current winless teams:
Ten 0-3
Jax 0-2 (against Buffalo)
Cin 0-2 (against Washington)
Titans may be sole losers after tomorrow night.
Our insurance salesman are definitely better than some other team’s insurance salesman.
Be cool if that translates to anything more for the Titans than maybe a great insurance deal for some customers.
I actually forgot TN has been credited with 1 takeaway this season. Back in week 1 when they caused the KR to inexplicably drop the ball and kick it to the titans.
Good times. Titans were up at the time in the first half and the season looked good.
Then halftime.
In just 3 more seasons, should have 5 1st round OL. Of course Ski would have to earn a second contract/5th year option.
But by year 2 of a new stadium and all, the visitors will all be able to see a hopefully competitive Titans team.
Maybe even good enough for titans fans to bother showing up.
